This is an ongoing case. Official investigation outcomes were promised to be released on June 30th 2019, but this has - again - been delayed, now until December 31st of 2019. So let's look into this mysterious case which has gripped Poland of yet again a beautiful European tourist ending up in hell's gates abroad... Btw, I have tried my best to provide decent English translations of all the Polish source material and videos, and though I do have one set of Polish grandparents myself, I unfortunately don't speak the language too well (I'm Dutch), so I used online technology to translate texts into English, or to convert videos into text and then into English the best I could. So, more than two years after the death of this Polish tourist in Egypt, prosecutors have still not been able to explain exactly why the beautiful woman died. Despite their aim to finalize the investigation in Magdalena Żuk's death in June 2019, it is now delayed further and extended until the end of this year. Like with the Kris and Lisanne case, there is an official version of events, and then there are the unofficial corrections and contradictions to this story. I'll start with the original version of events and provide you with all the information publicly available on this strange case.
On Tuesday April 25th 2017, at 20:20 PM, Magdalena Zuk, a 27 year old beautician from Poland flies to Hurghada, Egypt. Magdalena is originally from Bogatynia, born on September 19th 1990, but lives in Wroclaw, Poland. She is ambitious and smart; at the age of 22 she started her own beauty salon, while also studying for a bachelor degree in dietetics. She is also athletic; she likes to jog or do fitness training in the gym and she also trains as a (hobby) pole dancer. The official version of events is that on the day of her departure to Egypt, the spontaneous young woman had secretly been organizing the all-in holiday where she is now heading to, for the birthday of her boyfriend Markus W's - a hairdresser from Wrocław who she met during a concert in nightclub "Gray". She and Markus have only been dating for three to four months, but she wants to take him to a 4-star hotel in the Red Sea resort of Marsa Alam. However, when she reveals the surprise to him around one o'clock in the afternoon on the day of departure, it becomes clear that Magdalena made an error by keeping the whole plan a secret, because Markus' passport has expired. Or more precisely; his passport is valid for less than six more months, and Egypt does not allow access then. That is the official version of events. However right away there is already some doubt about this, because private detectives from the Lampart Group found out that Magdalena seems to have been aware all along that Markus' passport has validation issues. Because Magdalena contacted a mutual friend called Michal R. about this in advance. Which also cast some shadow on the supposed goal of this trip: holidaying with her boyfriend. Either way; at this point, there is not enough time to arrange a new passport for him. Markus then tries to sell the tickets on facebook. Four hours before the plane leaves, he posts a ticket announcement on Facebook: "I am selling a holiday to Egypt. Departure is today from Katowice at 8:20 p.m. The Egypt hotel has 4 stars and is all-in. The value of the trip is 4000 PLN (over 900 euro's). I will sell it for half the price for two people" he writes. However, he can not find a buyer at such short notice. Although rumour goes that one person does reply to Markus' facebook post, and offers to purchase the trip for half money, but that Markus then declines the offer, and literally says 'No'. And a Polish person called Tere Tkasz posted a lot of information on this case on youtube, and wrote specifically about this: "There are three witnesses who say that they were trying to buy this trip and Markus replied that the trip was already sold. They also showed screenshots of this to the police." He wonders if Markus may have created the entire facebook post as an attempt to buy himself an alibi, and that Magdalena was meant to go alone to Egypt from the beginning - and I assume that the story of Magda 'spontaneously' buying that trip for her new boyfriends birthday may possibly have been a lie from the couple too therefore.
Magdalena also asks around in her circle of friends if anyone wants to join her, but nobody can make it. According to Magda's sister Anna, she also asks her parents and sisters about coming along in Markus' place, and also have to decline because they have no passports. Magdalena then decides at the last minute to fly to Egypt alone. The trip is already paid for, after all. It is a relatively pricey trip for her; Markus states in his fb post that it is worth a little under 1000 euro's. In many sources it is mentioned that her parents borrowed Magdalena the money. (In this interview her parents say to detective Rutkowski however that they had no knowledge that Magdalena flew to Egypt... And her father stated that he would never have let her go to that country; "not alone, and not with someone else either" - I am not sure however if this is correct or a lie, considering the parents are also said to have borrowed Magda money for this trip specifically, and Anna saying that they did know in advance of her Egypt plans... Details, details..). Magdalena also can't get her money back at this stage by cancelling the whole undertaking, so that's perhaps why she in the end decides to go to Egypt anyway, alone. One more thing that strikes me as odd here: how can you sell an all-in holiday to others, when the plane tickets are booked on a specific name? It normally costs a lot of money just to change passengers names on the tickets - if that is possible at all, because many price fighter airliners do not offer this option. You'd just have to buy brand new tickets then, which are usually pretty expensive on the day of departure. According to the official version of events, Magdalena then tells her loved ones that she is feeling tired and that she looks forward to a short holiday and some rest. She had been in Egypt before once and she considered Marsa Alam a quiet place for retired people; not a place she seemed worried about. Marcus admitted later that although they both agreed on this, he still had fears all along. He wanted her to to get some rest and to enjoy this holiday on the one hand, but he also worried when she went somewhere alone. And now 'Magda' (or Madzia) went alone to such a distant country. Feminism and modern living aside; I find it peculiar that she would still holiday alone, in a place like Egypt with its very different culture and treatment of women.. Holed up in some resort in the desert. Of course, many women are independent and travel safely alone all over the world. But aside from the money aspect; it still strikes me as a bit peculiar that she decides go to such a place all alone, when the whole set-up and aim was to celebrate her boyfriends birthday in a special place, together. Wherever, I would think.. When Markus drops Magdalena off at Katowice-Pyrzowice airport, Magda is tearful. Witnesses who were discovered by the Lampart Office detectives confirm this: at the airport Magdalena was crying. But according to witnesses she does not otherwise behave strangely and investigators found no clues for this either. And this does not coincide with official police information. At the airport Magdalena Zuk is accompanied by two men. "With one of them she bids goodbye fondly and tenderly." (Source: TVP3 based on police data). After landing in Hurghada in Egypt, just after midnight on Wednesday April 26th, she calls her boyfriend and updates him on her travel. According to Markus, Magda is not sounding nervous or anxious then, nor is she mentioning any of that. Other travelers also do not notice anything unusual about her and later stated that she acted completely normal at the airport and during the flight. Magdalena is then transported from Hurghada to the seaside town of Marsa Alam, which is 286 km away. I read that she rented a car and drove herself there from the airport. She stays at the Three Corners Equinox Resort Beach Hotel.
Wednesday 26th of April On Wednesday Markus W. and his girlfriend have contact again. At three o'clock at night (so only two hours after checking into the hotel), Markus receives a telephone call from a frightened Magdalena, who tells him that somebody is in her room. She hears voices in her room. She asks him to talk to the staff at the front desk of the hotel, to check what is going on around her room, where she claims to hear noises. She then walks with her phone to the receptionist. Markus talks to him and asks him to check if everything is okay in Magdalena's room. Magda later says that she is fine, according to Markus. He also claims that he and Magdalena are in near constant contact. Over the course of the day however, Magdalena pleads with Markus to come as soon as possible to Egypt to pick her up. Her friends can not reach Magda on her phone. "She didn't send photos. Sometimes she only contacted us with the mobile phone of the Egyptian resident Mahmoud, but her messages to us were mysterious and hard to understand. For example, she wrote that she was waiting for us in a hotel room. Then she asked where we were and when we would go to her. When she finally called, she sounded strange. She said someone had probably spiked her drink with something", her friend later stated. Another friend says about these calls: "Magda spoke very strangely, she almost mumbled. It was hard to get contact with her." Hotel staff also notice that Magdalena is acting strangely. She is said to be aggressive and does not accept anyone's help, according to hotel personnel. Neither does she answer their questions. According to hotel guests Magdalena is running around and accusing people of things and said that her boyfriend had to be with her. One moment she is said to be impossible to make contact with, while the next moment she is extremely lively again, wanting to organize a get-together with the other Polish guests in the hotel. This doesn't strike her family as odd; they consider it natural for Magdalena, who is a lively and social person by nature. But the people who stay in a room close to Magdalena's room declare later that Magda ran through the hotel the whole time, accusing people of things, crying and saying that her boyfriend had to come to be with her there. And that she wanted to go back to Poland.. One female witness tried to talk to Magdalena; told her that her boyfriend loved her but that she now had to relax and enjoy her holiday of sun and rest there. And that she wasn't alone, that they would help her if needed. But Magdalena had an empty stare on her face, and seemed in another world almost, and she only asked them one thing in return:
"Do you believe in life after death?"
Strange... Some hotel guests also report her to the hotel staff, who then decide to contact the travel agency where Magdalena booked her trip: Rainbow Tours. One of their employers talks to her, but soon Magdalena is said to not even want to talk to the travel agency worker anymore. Witnesses say that she was almost dancing, in a trance like state, to the beach and that a hotel employer was going after her. That day she had walked round the hotel all the time, in long trousers, despite the hot sun. She would walk in circles, then take her blouse off, while not wearing a bra, and after some time she put her blouse back on again.... Strange behaviour. Magda contacts her friends several times however. She starts to send strange messages back to Poland. From the tone of the messages, it seems that Magdalena thinks that her friends are actually on holiday with her, and she asks some of them directly to come to her room. They all agree that she sounds erratic and confused. She also tells loved ones that she is hearing voices in her room. All this disturbing information begins to reach Magdalena's parents on Wednesday. They don't recognize their own daughter in these descriptions, and are worried. They decide that someone should go to Egypt to be with her. But because they themselves and other close family are dealing with the same travel restrictions as Markus, as none of them have a passport ("we didn't go so far abroad that we ever needed one"), one of Markus' colleagues is asked to fly to Egypt*. His name is Maciej S. and he is considered a friend from both Markus and Magdalena according to the media. Magdalena's parents also ask a Polish woman who stays in a nearby room about Magda, and they contact the Polish embassy in Egypt and ask for their help as well. The embassy later declare that everything is alright with Magdalena. Unfortunately, the opposite is true, her father Tadeusz Żuk and mother Elżbieta soon find out. Fellow holidaymakers who are in the same tour group as Magdalena later declare that Magdalena acted normal during the flight and arrival upon Egypt, but that she started to act strangely only after they had arrived at the hotel. Below photos of Magda with her boyfriend Markus. *The Polish embassy declared on May 8th 2017 by the way that they offered to provide Magdalena's family with valid passports "within hours" so that they could fly to Magdalena. The family vehemently denies this and claims it is a lie.
Thursday 27th of April Magdalena's condition deteriorates. She is seen shouting down the phone in the lobby, making wild arm movements. A Polish female hotel guest later testifies anonymously that despite the heat, she sees Magda running around the hotel in long trousers and then suddenly pulling off her blouse, showing her bare breasts to people in the hotel. Her family receives odd texts from Magdalena, asking them things like "Where are you? Come to me". Messages are curiously enough being sent from the phone of an employee of a travel agency, Mahmoud Khairy. Mahmoud is said to have worked as a local guide. They call him 'the resident', because he is a local who also works for a travel agent and is there to help tourists when needed. He also was of help for the group of Polish tourists in the hotel, as Mahmoud speaks Polish. Markus hears about his girlfriends worsening state and buys her a ticket for the first flight back home to Poland. Despite her initial plans to stay a full week in Egypt, he wants her to return home earlier than planned, on Saturday April 29th. Markus tells a TVN reporter later that he was afraid that day that Magdalena was about to do something worrying. What exactly was that, the reporter asks him? But Markus says that he doesn't want to talk about the details, "because the case is being dealt with by the police and the public prosecutor". Local man, travel agency worker and local tour guide Mahmoud Khairy (who also speaks good Polish) is now trying to take care of Magda, together with hotel staff. They later state that they attempt to calm her down. Mahmoud also talks to other Polish guests in the hotel, telling them that he has problems with the young woman and needs to look after her. He even asks other Polish guests for advise on how to handle Magda. Everyone by now knows that she is not alright and that Mahmoud looks after her... How does Mahmoud exactly help? The official version of events is that they offer to call a doctor, but that Magdalena is besides herself and does not seem to want any help. However in this investigation video it is stated that it is actually not confirmed at all that hotel staff or her new 'guards' offer to call a doctor for Magda. She often cries and seems in a very confused state of mind. This worries her parents enormously, as they have never seen their daughter psychotic or so mentally unstable. Magdalena has always been upbeat and positive, with no history whatsoever of psychological problems, her family declares. In the evening Magdalena goes to the beach. And from there Magda is transported to a small ship and spends the whole night there. Magda has her cellphone on, and her location is intercepted. It is coming from sea; about 20 km offshore in fact, in the Red Sea. What was she doing on a boat, considering the state she had been in since staying in the hotel? And with whom was she there?
The Lampart investigation group who did extensive research into this case, revealed that Magdalena was then wearing clothes on which, as a result of forensic examinations, biological traces of at least a few unidentified people were discovered (think of substances like sperm here). For unknown reasons, this fact was omitted in further proceedings conducted by the prosecutor's office. Despite the fact that these materials have been on file for a long time, based on an unbelievable report from Egypt that never appeared in the media, the hypothesis of rape before death has been mysteriously excluded by the prosecutor's office. In fact, official researchers of the case, so the Polish Prosecutors, also refuse to reveal whatever they know about Magda spending the night of April 27th - 28th on a ship. Onet Tomasz Czułowski, spokesperson for the Yelenia Góra Public Prosecutor, did let go about it that: "We have not confirmed that this has happened. Her phone was then logged in to the Bts station that covered the range of the hotel she was registered in".
Friday 28th of April On Friday family and loved ones say that they initially cannot make contact with Magdalena Żuk. She does not answer calls. Eventually, in the course of the day they manage to tell her by phone that a plane ticket is arranged for her to go home the following day. But hotel videos show Magdalena acting very strange on Friday morning, lying motionless in the doorway to her room, dressed in just a bathrobe. It is claimed that she is unconscious. The people who stay in the room next to hers, declared that Magda has several phones with her, which she has taken from other guests and refuses to give back. Staff send a video to Magdalena's family to show them the state she is in. The video stills show Magdalena curled up and lying on the floor, and another shot shows her lying on the bed, covering her face with her bathrobe. It seems that something serious has happened to her. Is this related to the events of Wednesday and Thursday? Was she perhaps abused on that boat, out of the coast the evening prior? Magda's mother, Elżbieta Żuk, later tells a TVN reporter: "When I came back from shopping, our youngest daughter, Małgosia showed me a video where our child is on the floor, rolled up like a pet in a white bathrobe. I didn't know what was going on. For me, it was abnormal. My child lay there hunched and huddled up, so poorly, and I am not there".
According to the detectives of the Lampart investigation group, Magda's terrible condition was in fact the result of what had happened the previous night with her during her stay on the ship, with Magdalena repeatedly having sexual intercourse. They also establish that: "With this matter it was attempted to carefully ensure that it would not be possible to carry out credible research in that regard. However, in a very orderly fashion, you can actually successfully make this thesis [that she had sexual intercourse with multiple people], based on forensic examinations that showed the presence of biological traces of at least a few men on her clothing. Shortly afterwards, the medical doctor Marek Ahmed confirms this. She was also given strong drugs produced from a compound called alpha PVP, a chemical cousin and a new amphetamine-like drug." So what the detective group found, is that these drugs found in Magda's system, could either indicate that she was given medication for her strange behaviour by doctors in the hospital, but that this is a chicken of egg situation basically. Because these drugs by themselves can also CAUSE patients to develop an extremely powerful feeling of paranoia and hallucinations. So was Magdalena first acting psychotic and did doctors thén give her the medication that was found in her blood? OR, was she first given the medication - in the form of drugs - and does that explain her strange erratic behaviour as soon as she had settled into the hotel on the Wednesday? As detectives underline; "Up to 70% of cooperative drug chemical derivatives are known to cause illness, and in particular for people to become aggressive. They feel they have superhuman strength and are resistant to pain. Drug abuse can lead to an extremely powerful feeling of paranoia and hallucinations." So there is no clarity provided by investigators whether or not Magdalena was first given the drugs and as a result of this seemingly lost the plot. Or if the drugs came last in the chain of events, given in an attempt to control her mental instability?
Shortly before 15:00 pm on the Friday, Magda is taken to a local hospital in Port Ghalib. but things don't go well there. Head of the hospital, Dr. Ahmed Shawky, stated later that Magdalena wouldn't even get out of the (ambulance) car. This turns out to be incorrect - not to say a lie -, because there is video footage of Magdalena walking into the hospital willingly. She does seem to be acting a little strange however, looking slightly disorientated. But that's about it, she is walking by herself and doesn't seem to act crazy on camera, and neither does she have to be held or forced to walk inside. But nevertheless things don't go as planned after that, because Magdalena is not examined by doctors.. The reason for this is unclear. A doctor claims later that Magda herself refuses to be examined - which is not something the footage of her seems to underline, as Magda walks in calmly and willingly on camera. Another story is that she is faced with doctors who refuse to examine her, because this hospital is not meant to deal with mental health patients. Or possibly because Magdalena seemed fine to them. We don't know which of the two is fact and which is fiction. Either way, she returns to the hotel without further help. "No one helped her there", a family member said, "because they said they couldn't cure mental illness". They assumed that this was Magda's problem, and peculiar enough a running hospital was not able or willing to help patients with mental illness... Not even keep her under surveillance there until she was safely collected by family to go home. It is peculiar also that Magdalena Zuk was first found in a deplorable condition in the hotel; that she was then taken to hospital by 'the resident' [tour guide Mahmoud] and another man. And that in the hospital, a doctor who is not a psychiatrist or who has even the ability to care for a psychiatric patient, is nevertheless diagnosing her and states that he thinks she has mental problems. But there are no toxicological studies done, no meaningful studies at all. And as a psychologist in the video says: "Of course, when you 'identified' a mental illness through self-observation, you then have to ask yourself some exact questions. A very accurate explanation should be given about the assessment whether or not this person will survive these problems with mental illness. If this risk of life is eliminated but at the same time the patient's condition is assessed, the patient should be monitored in the hospital with the help of medical laboratory records." None of that is done however. A diagnosis is made without any actual scientific testing, and the patient is let go of without further monitoring in the hospital.
This video was made at the hospital, of Magdalena walking through the hospital hallway, and another one of her outside, in front of the building, walking and jumping for a moment. Seemingly talking on her phone and walking up and down. A psychologist from this video said about it: "In the video, her behavior is calm, however the patients movements and attitude indicate a high level of anxiety. Here you can clearly see that Magda who is talking to someone on the phone is guarded by four men. One of them decides to change his position while Magdalena moves past him while talking on the phone, and he does that in such a way that he seems to suspect that he may have to start to run in order to reverse the sparrows [I suspect it is meant that he may feel he may have to come in action anytime, in case Magdalena runs or does something unpredictable]." So, Magda can walk on her own, she is not in such a bad condition, she can talk on the phone, so she is not incapacitated, although she is constantly under the watchful eye of some people. Then, there is a big unknown time gap between Magda leaving the hospital on Friday, until and the morning hours of Saturday.
So in the end, doctors let her go, without proper investigation or a formal diagnosis. Why would they do that, based on how Magdalena had been acting only a few hours ago in the hospital? Although it seems possible that indeed not all hospital units are set up or equipped to deal with psychiatric patients. Her family underline time and time again that Magdalena never suffered from anything that had to do with the psyche in all her life. No depression, no anxieties, no psychosis or anything like that. Her social media posts also underline how happy she looks and says to be, enjoying sports, concerts and dancing. If it is true that Magdalena didn't want to be examined in hospital, then maybe she was scared. She is said to call her boyfriend Markus at this point, telling him that she is constantly admitted to hospital. I wonder why she wasn't acting in the same way in the hospital as she did in the hotel.. If she was afraid of something in the hotel, wouldn't she have told doctors this? An anonymous man who was also staying in Marsa Alam and who witnessed Magdalena during the days before her death, later declared some things about Magdalena's behaviour to the press during these days. He said that she seemed 'on another planet'. Magdalena had seemed strange to him from the start. Already during the organizational group meeting, she had asked out loud why the bathtub had no cork? Later another anonymous caller contacted Polish media to declare that Magdalena had spoken to him in Marsa Alam, and had asked him to help her organize an integration meeting. First she had tried to discuss this with staff at the hotel, but when this anonymous caller had suggested to her that the best time for such a meeting would be after the evening dinner, she turned around to him and asked him: "Where is my boyfriend"? Then she said some more words which he did not understand, and walked away. Her question surprised the man, but he reckoned she could have lost her boyfriend in the crowds during the day perhaps. But Magdalena's dynamic, odd behaviour had also startled other people who had joined the group travel. TVN media in Poland was contacted by several of them and it became clear that one person in the group had been vocal about not getting along with Magda. It also became clear that Magdalena never sat down for a meal. People thought that she didn't eat at all. It was also seen and known that Mahmoud spent time with Magdalena, and he was heard saying that he wanted to send her back to Poland as soon as possible. And that he had big trouble with her; that her family wanted him to put her on the next plane back home. Unfortunately no seats were available on either the Thursday nor the Friday flight to Poland. So the ended up having to wait until Saturday to fly home then. Mahmoud is also claimed to have said that he had nothing else to do with her and that he had no contact with the Polish Embassy. A female who joined the trip also was tried to be dragged in, but she wanted to have nothing to do with it, and refused to help Magdalena. Some hotel guests declared by the way that Mahmoud seemed to really care for Magda as best as he could. *By the way, about these witnesses in the hotel: Prosecutor Gołębiowski said that the witness accounts are very different. "Some people say there was no indication that there was anything wrong with the woman, others said the opposite," he said. However, they did not reveal anything that wasn't visible in the online video footage [of the hospital etc]. And Magda's family believe that these witnesses from the hotel have been first instructed by Mahmoud, and exaggerated their accounts of her behaviour on purpose.
Saturday 29th of April This is the day of Magdalena's planned flight back home to Poland. But the day has a rocky start. Independent instigators uncovered that around 6:00 AM, hotel staff prevents Magdalena from jumping off the roof of the hotel. Media confirm this and provide further details about another direct source of this information: the travel agency who provided Magdalena with her Egypt trip. What is she doing there? The report from the travel agency about the events surrounding Magdalena, state that she wanted to try to commit suicide by jumping off the roof: "On the night of April 28th, the hotel security staff observed that Mrs. Magdalena left her room and went to the roof of the building. The accounts of the facility's staff told us that she was trying to get closer to the edge of the roof, and the employees brought her back to her room," according to the report." Magdalena then stayed alone in her room until Saturday morning, when she was brought to the airport by Mahmoud and friends. - Either way, this information about Magda climbing on the roof of the hotel can provide two simple facts. First of all, that Magda wants to run away, and secondly that she can't do it in a normal way. Of course, it is also possible that Magdalena is still under the influence of something (Drinks? Drugs?) and hallucinating or very panicked. Or that she is having ongoing psychiatric problems... We do not know any more details. And then comes the mysterious moment of 2:00 PM. Magdalena Żuk checks out of the hotel. Mahmoud Khairy is still handling Magda, for what must be the third day in a row now, which seems either peculiar for a travel agent who needs to work normally, or very altruistic? But Mahmoud takes her to the airport. Magda looks well kept; her hair is done and she looks presentable, so to say. Family hope that they will soon see her back home now. However, something's not right. While at the airport, Magdalena is considered to be in a bad mental state; some say she even shows aggression. Other sources mention that she was trying to take her clothes off. This is not officially confirmed however. Why exactly she is barred from flying is not entirely clear. But it is claimed that an airport doctor does not give Magda permission to travel. The travel agency where she booked her trip on the other hand declares that it was cockpit staff/aircrew who decided that he wouldn't allow Magdalena on board. In this article it is claimed that the planes pilot saw Magda behaving strangely and called in the airport doctor to assess her medical state, and that he advised them not to take her on board. Either way, she misses her flight as a result of this. How strange... Wouldn't Magdalena jump on board with relief if she had been tormented by something or someone in the hotel those past days? Why would she seem unfit to fly, either due to aggressive behaviour or seeming out of it, with the promise of seeing her family again soon? What was happening to her that she couldn't even keep it together long enough to get on that flight home? Was she having a serious psychiatric meltdown? Was she drugged, again? In fact, a female who told the papers that she saw the whole situation unfold at the airport, claims that there was no airport doctor, and in fact that there was no doctor at all. Instead, Magda was led around the building by several men and kept from flying..
The independent investigators from the Lampart investigation group who looked into the case, observed that: "Magdalena Żuk checks out of the hotel (she is discharged in fact) and she is then transported to the airport. Then she allegedly can not board the plane because of her mental state. There is no known procedure for this type of medical issue before departure, and the fact is surprising. First, there is the alleged presence at the airport of a specialist in psychiatry, who allegedly gives a negative recommendation about her mental state of potential passengers, and as a result of this Magdalena cannot board the plane to go home. And secondly it is equally surprising that such a final decision was issued by an alleged pilot of an aircraft. Have any of you ever had contact with a pilot on the first plane before you boarded? And since when do the pilots who are already in the areas reserved exclusively for the staff, have been able to freely get out of their cockpit before departure to decide that this particular passenger is not flying? Of course it's false. In fact, the diagnosis was never given by a psychiatrist. And the pilot who came out and refused to take her on board, may have thought she was under the influence of such a huge amount of drugs that she could not control what was happening to her. So they said that they were returning to the hotel because the pilot did not want to take the model, but he was in the car because she was controlling the situation enough to know it was all nonsense." - Representatives of Virtual Poland inform the tour operator who booked Magdalena her holiday that she didn't get on the flight. From the airport Magdalena is then driven to three different hotels. In two hotels - including the hotel she had stayed the previous days - she is refused due her erratic behaviour. In another Magda does not want to stay alone. The hotel staff fear that Magdalena may bring their other clients' safety into danger. A third hotel accepts her.
At this point, around 17:00 PM, Magdalena calls her boyfriend Markus W. Markus records the video call, which lasts around 14 minutes and is uncomfortable to watch. Magdalena seems scared, and is accompanied by Mahmoud and several other men. She appears to be in a very anxious state. Markus uploads the video online then, on the facebook profile of Bogatynia24.tv. In the recording, Magdalena appears nervous and tearful at the very least. It cannot be excluded that she may be even either drugged or possibly traumatized. But by all accounts, she seems in a bad mental state, rocking herself back and forth and nervously pacing. Often unable to talk. She is crying at times and says very little, overall. The video call is started between what seems to be Markus and Mahmoud: the Egyptian travel agent and local guide who 'looked after' Magdalena for some days by then, and who also was a social media contact of Markus already then.. But soon Magdalena comes on screen. And she does not answer most of Markus' questions about what happened. Markus keeps asking her what is going on and she barely answers. Only a few times she says things, such as "They have different tricks here, take me away from here, please. They will do something to me." And: "They are holding.... I cannot tell you." Markus keeps asking her to speak frankly to him and that he loves her no matter what. But Magdalena seems too afraid to talk. The fact that there are several Egyptians around her, one notably holding the phone in front of her, and Mahmoud speaking Polish, probably isn't helping here. She has a trembling voice and finally says things such as "I won't come back from here." "It's useless" "I cannot talk, I'm sorry"
This goes on for over 13 minutes, and below I added the full original video with English subtitles, as well as a condensed video of half that time, with all the important parts that you should hear/read.
At the end of the video, Mahmoud says: "Marcus, bye. It seems like a waste of time. I will now call the embassy. Here in Egypt, okay?" Markus asks him: "Well, can you ask Magda to turn on the phone?" To which Mahmoud says to Magdalena: "Magda, do you want to turn on the phone? Because Markus wants to call you. Please switch on your telephone." You hear conversations in Arabic in the background of the recording at this point. I added the translation of these Arabic phrases in my videos in a special colour, as they are quite remarkable. Markus is being offended heavily and they say thinks about his dick being the size of a pinkie finger. Clearly talking down on him and calling him a pussy in their own graphic macho ways. As frightened and traumatized as she looks, Magdalena never makes any attempt to talk to passers by at the parking lot where she is recorded talking to Markus. Frankly, she seems out of it. And who is the 'M' she is referring to? Mahmoud? Or somebody else? There are quite a few M's in this story actually: Mahmoud, Markus, there is Maciej who is supposed to pick her up, Magdalena herself. Then there is friend Michał R., who is said to be the one who sits in the same room as Markus when the video call between him and Magdalena is recorded. (Michal R. even says to Markus on record: "Don't take it from her, because they will come.") Its also remarkable that Magdalena uses Mahmouds phone to call Markus - despite her having her own phone - and that somebody is holding that phone in front of her. She doesn't use her own hands to hold it up. Regarding Mahmoud and Markus, an interesting detail is that the two men already knew each other from before Magda went to Egypt. The evidence for this lies in them already having been social contacts on one of the social media networks, which was immediately cleaned up after this news broke. Now follow the full length video with English subtitles as well as the short version I made of it, with the condensed info (as there is a lot of repetition and silence in the original long version). The friend of Markus who recorded these call conversations, send a file from his computer; a file that was previously edited on the phone and that was not closed properly and correctly. This means that this file can't be reproduced or played in a normal environment, but it(s name) has been successfully written. The Lampart group believes that this undoubtedly and indisputably proves that the full and true course of this conversation is not publicly known.
After this conversation, Mahmoud brings Magdalena back to the hospital in Port Ghalib, where she is accepted as a patient. The reason he gives for this, is that she passed out in the car. The news of this calms her parents down, who now think she is in safe hands in hospital. Magdalena's mother recalled to Polish news channel TVN: "Listen, we are calm now, because she is in the hospital, nothing will happen to her. Because nothing is threatening a normal person in the hospital." Unfortunately, this is far from the truth. Surveillance videos record how Magdalena arrives in hospital in a wheelchair around 19:00 PM. Then another hospital recording from shortly before midnight shows Magdalena Żuk stumbling through the corridor of the hospital. Then in one of the most disturbing videos of all, shot in a hallway, Magdalena Żuk can be seen fleeing away from the hospital room. She is being held by a group of people, perhaps hospital staff, although most of them do not wear clothing characteristic for medical personnel such as doctors coats or scrubs... At least four men and one woman chase and encircle her. Magdalena gets up from the ground at some point, and throws herself at one specific man in the checkered shirt, clearly focusing on him. When she falls on the right side of the cadre, the man then effectively shields surveillance cameras to seemingly prevent the recording of the incident. The same man is later seen grabbing Magdalena's body from behind, and he immediately puts her down on the ground. Another man comes in a white hospital uniform and grabs the woman's legs trying to get her under complete control. One of the men blocks the camera at some point from recording Magda lying on the ground in front of a door, making a very unnatural angle with his body while leaning against a door post. Right before this moment he was recorded looking back over his shoulder, seemingly to locate the hospital camera. In this video (LINK) it is claimed that Magdalena is then "hit on the head" and that after this impact she falls from the force and is lifted out of the corridor. He's just about to lose consciousness. Polish media report that Magdalena is getting medication administered at a certain point by hospital staff. Her handbag and telephone are also taken away from her...
This footage shows Magdalena in sheer terror, as I see it. The group circling around her do not look like doctors, so who are they and why are they not wearing hospital clothing? Mahmoud and one of his friends seem present also. Again... Could Magda be reacting against them? Did they do something to her previously and did they traumatize her perhaps? Is it possible that Magdalena is already trying to jump from a window at this point, and that regular hospital visitors try to keep her from doing so? Is someone about to stick a needle into her with medication? Or are they desperately trying to keep her safe in fact? Among these people, according to TVN24 reporter Sebastian Napieraj, is a certain Dr. Ahmed (who may be Dr Ahmed Shawky or another dr Ahmed), as well as a nurse in hijab. It sames safe to state, based on the video, that the group tries to stop Magdalena from escaping, but she defends herself and looks highly panicked. They grab her arms and legs, clearly against her will. Yet she also seems psychotic and like a safety to herself. Eventually she is dragged into a room. There she is tied to a bed with towels, the doctor in question told Polish journalists. This may be the only material they have there to tie her down, as the hospital was already said to not normally deal with psychiatric patients. Head of the hospital, dr Ahmed Shawky, later describes Magdalena as very aggressive. She screams and acts violently; they can not make any normal contact with her, he claims. Initially he says that his hospital is not designed or equipped to deal with psychiatric care, but eventually he agrees to take Magdalena in, because he realizes that they cannot leave her to her own devices and also because he hears that a friend of her will pick her up the next day. Dr. Shawky also tells the media later that Magda was sleepy when she arrived in hospital. "After she woke up, she couldn't communicate with us," he says. He is told that she has not eaten for three days. "Then the problems started", he recalls. "Suddenly she started trying to leave her room, she wanted to walk. A lot of staff tried to stop her. They told me she was very strong. She shouted loudly. I gave her a midazolam injection to let her fall asleep. Then we took her to the room. I tied her to bed", the doctor said. Towels are used to restrain her, because they don't leave skin markings. In the meantime, Markus' friend Maciej S. is sent to Egypt to see and help Magdalena. Dr. Shawky also tells the media that he suddenly hears a sound at about 2:50 in the morning. "I looked out the window of my office and saw her on the floor. My wife, who was with me at the time, shouted: "she jumped, she jumped" - he said. In a BBC TV admission, the head of the hospital declares later that Magdalena tried to jump out of a hospital window not once, but multiple times in fact. Here the hospital director is named suddenly as Mohamed Sami Gomaa. The BBC said that the Polish woman was tied to a hospital bed, but that she managed to free herself. She attacked the nurse and jumped out the window — says hospital director. Gomaa also added that the woman has not complained about the rape, so no rape-check investigation has been carried out to confirm this hypothesis.
Sunday 30th of April
Witnesses state that after midnight, in the early hours of Sunday April 30th (around 02:00), Magdalena asks to be untied so that she can use the bathroom. As soon as the nurse unties her, Magdalena is said to jump out of a first floor (some reports say 2nd floor) hospital window. She lands on the concrete below. The nurse witnesses the event. Her name is said to be Fateh Ahmed, and she works at the Port Ghalib hospital. In an interview she explains that after Magdalena is released from the towels that were used to tie her down, she grabs the drip stand and walks with it to the window. She says about it: "I was in the room with Magdalena when she jumped out the window. I tried to stop her, but unfortunately I failed. Magdalena kicked and hit me. I am very sorry". Fateh Ahmed then runs to the head of the hospital, Dr. Ahmed Shawky. Who declares later that he hears a bang, and runs to Magdalena's room. He says that his wife, who is with him at the time, is the first to run down to be with Magda. "To this day she has a hard time recovering from what happened", the doctor adds. Dr. Shawky implies also that it seems to the nurse that Magda tried to flee from something most of all, instead of that she tried to commit suicide necessarily. He recalls that she had been acting strangely when she visited to hospital on Friday, and that Magdalena had not agreed when the doctors suggested they would be doing some tests on her. They see however that she was in a bad state and behaved unnatural. Dr. Tarek Ahmed from the Port Ghalib hospital even claims that she was under the influence of drugs, a type that "turns people into zombies". - Magdalena is found on the concrete floor below the hospital window in a very bad condition. She does not die immediately from the fall, but is recorded to have extensive injuries to her face, head, chest, arms and legs. An official medical report details a shattered left leg, a pierced left lung and left sided head damage. The detectives from the Lampart group say about this:
"Let's remember, however, that Magda fell out of the second floor window, and this maximally limits the possibility of fatal injuries."
They also state that other injuries that theoretically arose at the moment of contact with the ground clearly indicate that Magda must have been unconscious at the time of the fall. Because she shattered the entire left side of her body. And, as stated already; Magda only fell out of the first floor window (may be considered the second floor window depending on how you count the ground level) and this seriously limits the possibility of fatal injuries according to investigators.
"Magda shattered the entire left side of her body. And that means that she couldn't have done this alone. People who jump out of the window fall out in a frontal way. Here, it looks exactly like someone took Magdalena in his arms and just threw her through the window while she was unconscious. However, this report is discredited and the facts contained in it are simply omitted."
Six minutes after the fall, hospital monitoring record how Magda is kept deep into the ward for two hours and is effectively isolated there. After spending two hours in the intensive care of the hospital of Port Ghalib, the head of the hospital decides to transport her to a larger facility 286 km away in Hurghada for specialized help. Magdalena leaves in an ambulance around 05:00 AM and arrives there around 8:00 AM on Sunday. On the recording of the video monitoring, you can see several men handling a stretcher with what seems to be Magdalena on it. According to the doctors with whom a reporter spoke, Magdalena is now "on the verge of consciousness." When Maciej S. (who volunteers for the passport-less family to go to look after Magda) arrives in the hospital, he hears initially that Magda is considered stable and that she can be transported to Poland. He also sees her while she is kept in an artificial coma. He tells the media later that a doctor provided him the information that Magda had a problem with her right lung and that this injury was very dangerous: Magdalena was losing a lot of blood through this specific injury and she would have to be operated as soon as possible but at the latest within two days for it, he was told. Maciej also told that Mahmoud had been scratched badly by Magdalena in his face. We have never seen any evidence of this however; not on the video footage and no selfies or other photo evidence.. Magdalena's family hear that she is at intensive care and call with an insurance company, who refuses to pay for the transport. Just as they are trying to arrange the flight for her themselves, they get the news that Magdalena has passed away... According to an Egyptian medical report, Magda died on Sunday April 30th, at 17:30 PM, some fifteen hours after she fell from the hospital window. Mahmoud calls all the Polish guests in the Three Corners Equinox Resort Beach Hotel together, and tells them tearfully that Magda died. "He looked like a human wreckage when he told us, and burst into tears at some point", recalls a witness. After this, Mahmoud is ordered by Egyptian police and prosecution (as well as by the travel agency he works for) not to talk to the press about anything that happened. He more or less disappeared from the face of the earth after this; not literally, but he was not available for interviews and even removed his social media accounts.
In fact, regarding Magda's injuries.. The body of Magdalene Żuk may have been thrown out of the window
Journalists from "Intervention" have succeeded in achieving the results of the CT scans which were performed just after Magdalena allegedly jumped out of the window as a suicide attempt. According to the expert involved, the nature of the injuries she sustained, indicate that Magda was unconscious or dead at the time of the fall. Why? Injury only occurred on one side of her body. Marcin Popowski, a private investigator and analyst, told Polsat News: "The injuries seem rather strange and unusual for someone who jumped in a case of suicide. An incapacitated body on the other hand tends to hit the ground in a very different way. Usually, in the case of suicides, instinct of self-preservation can work and such a person then jumps more or less on his feet. Then there is damage to the legs, the pelvis is cracked, often the limbs dig into the abdominal part and completely different and serious injuries occur. In this case, the injuries indicate that the body was thrown out of the window or that it was completely inert." - The images added show that mostly all the injuries occurred on the left side of the body. An official medical report detailed her injuries specifically as a shattered left leg, a pierced left lung and left sided head damage. The detectives from the Lampart group said about this: "Let's remember, however, that Magda fell out of the second floor window, and this maximally limits the possibility of fatal injuries."

On May 10th (so 1,5 week after her death), the autopsy of Magdalena Zuk takes place. Soon after, Markus speaks in the media. Many assume that Magdalena dies as a result of her injuriesProsecutor Marek Gorzkiewicz of the prosecutor's office in Jelenia Góra, who is investigating the death, also receives information that Magdalena died from the injuries which she sustained from her fall. The exact height of this fall is also debated; some say that she fell from the second floor, but other media declare is in fact the first floor of the Port Ghalib hospital where she stayed in Marsa-Alam. However, going by this video, it does seem point towards a second floor window and room. Detective Krzysztof Rutkowski revealed in an interview with Radio Zet that to his knowledge the direct cause of death was "suffocation caused by embolism in the lungs". Supposedly as a result from the fall. In an interview with Wirtualna Polska, the detective stated however that the girl could have been also beaten earlier. The office of Krzysztof Rutkowski carried out an investigation into the death of Magdalena Żuk, independent of the Polish and Egyptian public prosecutor. Krzysztof Rutkowski sent several employees to Egypt, to investigating the case further at the request of the family. (See more on his findings further down this blog post). The detective also managed to get new information by interviewing Dr. Ahmed Shawke in Marsa Alam, who witnessed events with Magdalena Żuk. He gave the girl medication and tied her to the bed. His report shows that she behaved very aggressively, hence these practices. Rutkowski also revealed that she had such extensive internal wounds, that it is hard to match with a fall from only two storeys high, considering Magdalena was not only young but also athletic. He thinks that she was beaten and viciously raped.
However not everyone agrees with this scenario, and despite the findings of the official investigation still being under wraps
and Polish prosecutors being stuck at the moment with half the evidence still floating somewhere in limbo and Egypt not cooperating as they should, Tomasz Czułowski, spokesperson for the Yelenia Góra Public Prosecutor did already speak out against the findings from these private investigators. Tomasz Czułowski claims that "It is known that the injuries suffered by Magdalena Żuk were typical of the fall of a height". Prosecutors said her body had no signs of violence against her. "It was also not found that she could be the victim of human trafficking", he claims. Although they also added that additional research is necessarily to confirm this with 100% certainty (which they cannot at this stage). Instead, traces of powerful drugs were found in Magdalena's body, including a substance used to treat psychosis, schizophrenia, and/or depression. Researchers, however, do not wish to comment on this. But for now they hint towards depression playing a role in Magdalena's death. I want to remind you however that this investigation is ongoing and that Egypt has so far been withholding quite a bit of information, so this is not a formal or official verdict. Just a planned leak to the media. "The investigation has been going on for two years and we have not received answers for those two years", complained the Żuk family lawyer, Paweł Jurewicz, also recently. "We know more than at the beginning, but there have been no new documents from the local prosecutor's office in Egypt for two years. And without them, we cannot end the investigation. For two years we have been assured that the documents will be sent [by Egypt]. For the time being, however, only the report on the activities carried out there has been sent to Poland". He also criticizes the one-sided and unexplained decision from the Egyptian investigators to send Magdalena's body to Poland for a second opinion in an embalmed state. "Blood and all liquids were removed. So tests — even toxicological ones — that have been carried out by us may most likely not give the correct results. And in Egypt, samples were taken to test during autopsy, including blood samples. But they have not been sent to Poland yet! And questions about the cause of this tragedy cannot be fully answered without this toxicological evidence." It's unbelievable almost... Egypt has most certainly pulled a trick on Poland here, and it beggars all belief why they until now have not sent the blood test results and other toxicological evidence to the Polish prosecution and investigators... What are they trying to hide?
And new revelations from Magda's family are indicating that they believe that her death was not a suicide, but that she was murdered. Undisclosed data and facts from the (locked and guarded) case file, which consists of hundreds and hundreds of pages already by now, "explain without a doubt Magda's behaviour, and that her death was not a suicide". According to Magdalena's sister and parents, the evidence in the case files (which they cannot publicly talk about as long as the investigation is ongoing, at the risk of being imprisoned themselves) points towards foul play and murder. "In my opinion, someone gave her her medication and she was abused and injured - I am sure of that. Everything in this report indicates that a crime has been committed" - says Anna Cieślińska. She added that she thinks Magdalena was given drugs or medication by those who abused her, in the hope that she would not be able to remember anything. But the athletic young woman responded different to the drugs, Anna thinks, and she remembered too much of what had happened and had been done to her. This was uncomfortable for 'them', they risked her going to the police to implicate them in illegal things. They wanted to have their fun with a cool, young and beautiful woman and for her not to remember it afterwards. "There is evidence that the victim was a crime, but researchers do not want to disclose it" - says Paweł Jurewicz also, who is the representative of Magdalena's family. And Magda's sister Anna Cieślińska didn't leave things with that. She appealed to the Minister of Justice Zbigniew Ziobro: "I am asking the Attorney-General Zbigniew Ziobra for help in a matter that lives with the public and has a public interest. I ask for the publication of the latest findings on the circumstances [of Magdalena's death] which have recently been revealed in the case, including the reasons for Madzia's behavior and her death," she concluded. Her request was rejected however, and the family risk hefty prison sentences if they themselves make information from the ongoing investigation public.
So we are left with our own questions
Did Magdalena try to kill herself? Or did she only try to get away and flee from something? Or was she perhaps pushed out the window by somebody else? Was she having a psychotic episode or was she drugged? Did someone do something to her, was she abused, or were people merely trying to control her erratic behaviour and keep her safe? Is it true that she was raped by multiple men? Is it true that she was beaten heavily before her death? The detectives of the Lampart Investigation Group also found out something else that is interesting: "In this context, the pattern of the situation seemed to be very similar to that which we analyzed in another case that we were dealing with: the tragic death of Karolina Kaczorowska, and the connections between the same people who participated in both cases were discovered." So has an independent investigation taken place, to establish what exactly happened? Hmmm, a bit. A first autopsy was performed in Egypt soon after Magdalena died and it was performed in attendance of a Polish officer of justice and a Polish forensic medicine expert. However, the two Polish representatives were only allowed in to view things from a corner; they had no permission to take their own samples from the body for research. Not all details have been made public yet, but it was publicly revealed that Magdalena was not found to be the victim of violence or sexual assault. (Despite the bodily fluids of multiple men having been found on her clothes...). She also had no sexual intercourse in Egypt, not even voluntarily. No defensive wounds were found by Egyptian officials and neither DNA traces under her finger nails. Two teams of Polish experts are said to have confirmed this; one team witnessed the autopsy being done in Egypt, and a second autopsy was conducted in Poland. She died from her injuries, sustained after the fall from the hospital window, and Polish Prosecution team are also ruling out for now that Magda was the victim of human traffickers. In addition, Egyptians confirmed that the 27-year-old before her death was taking depression drugs. A substance was found in her body, including in the treatment of psychosis and schizophrenia. However media source "Super Express" revealed that they had insight in the autopsy rapport, and that something else (or more specific at least) had come out of it: Magdalena Żuk died due to torturous suffocation. Here they are confirming what detective Krzysztof Rutkowski also already revealed. Although the think that Magdalena's fall from the window could have caused this. Traces of strong drugs were found in her blood: anti-psychotic drugs (specifically; drugs used to treat depression and schizophrenia). Did the hospital give them to her? Notably, the official reading has been that no other drugs were found in her blood*. Which surprised me, as she seemed high on something to me, initially. One of the doctors of the hospital in Marsa Alam, Tarek Ahmed, gave a statement however and revealed that a new medication, called flakka, may have been given to Magdalena. Here in this interview he also talks about it. And that it is a very dangerous drug in fact. Anyone taking it soon behaves like they have lost their mind. Its impossible to make contact with them. According to this doctor, Magda behaved in a very similar way.
But a male source who claims to have insight into the medical hospital records Egyptian autopsy, came with different details. The information was already published on May 7th, 2017, a week after Magdalena died, and before an autopsy would take place in Egypt. The report states that Magdalena was seriously injured, but only on the left side of her body. Her left leg was broken in three places, her left lung was pierced by her ribs and she had a left-sided head injury. The source is clear about it: these are not injuries that may result from deliberately jumping out of a first/second floor window. According to the source, Magdalena must have been unconscious when she hit the ground. The reason why she didn't fall or jump from the window by her own doing, is because she simply had no strength to do so, says the man who analyzed the hospital's medical records. Five hours before her fateful ending, Magdalena was exhausted and unconscious. Before she fell asleep, she was administered glucose. What happened after that? That question should (still, to date) be answered by Egyptian police and the Egyptian autopsy. The Lampart investigation group also believes that Magda's injuries don't correlate to someone willingly jumping from a window; she would have had frontal injuries then they believe, and not only left sided damage. They also believe that she was thrown in an unconscious state out of the window and had no signs of trying to instinctively break her own fall.
After the Egyptians finished a first autopsy and when it was time for the Polish investigators to do their own autopsy and second opinion... Magdalena's body was delivered to them chemically treated and embalmed. There are persistent claims that the Egyptians cleaned Magdalena Żuk's body so extensively with special chemicals, that they erased many important traces and clues. Detective Krzysztof Rutkowski also revealed this information. For the embalming process, which they did on their own account and without Polish permission, blood and all liquids were removed. So tests - even toxicological - that Polish investigators wanted to carry out, are not reliable anymore. Some say this was done on purpose, to cover up discriminating evidence. Detective Krzysztof Rutkowski stated this for instance. He is convinced that the embalming was done very much on purpose to erase important evidence. Note that Magdalena's body was going to Polish investigators after the Egyptians first did an autopsy. Making their own (Egyptian) first findings the only reliable ones, factually. Polish representatives were also forbidden to take any samples from the body for their own investigation... Due to the way in which they treated her body, this second autopsy was made more difficult and the outcomes were flawed and incomplete. Krzysztof Rutkowski also told media outlet Wirtualna Polska that he believed that said chemical treatment had erased any traces of possible sexual assault or rape. Besides; during the Egyptian autopsy, two Polish representatives were present, however it has become public knowledge that "the Egyptian authorities have not allowed these Polish representatives to take small fragments of Magdalena's body for testing". No toxicological testing from the Poles therefore and no other reliable testing due to the state of the body that was sent eventually to Poland...
*Despite Polish claims that Magdalena was not drugged, drugs were found in her system after all: Magdalena's mother, Elżbieta, has recently, in April 2019, spoken out against the 'no drugs' verdict. At risk of breaking the law and being persecuted herself ("they threatened to send me to jail for three years if I wrote a single word about the case file"), the mother has become so frustrated with the lack of progression and transparency in this case, that she spoke to the media about a disturbing fact which so far has been kept a secret (revealing information from a running public prosecutors case - which the family of Magdalena has access to - is considered a crime). She claims that the Egyptian autopsy and toxicology results do show that drugs were found in Magda's blood. "My daughter was found to have been under the influence of drugs. That is the result of the Egyptian report after autopsy. And investigators are hiding this fact. The Polish prosecution have forbidden us to to speak about this and have threatened with punishment." But that Polish investigators have been covering this fact up, while the investigation is still dragging on. Elżbieta also challenges the notion that Magdalena would have suffered from a psychiatric or mental disorder. Everyone close to her declares that she did not. If so, the mother says, then why hasn't the investigation been completed by now? Why haven't they simply concluded that Magdelan had a mental breakdown and that this led her to commit suicide? They did not, she says, because they have no evidence for this. Until now the Polish prosecutor has not responded yet to Elżbieta's statements.
Recently, on May 2nd, 2019, the media reported new evidence: traces of a very popular African medicine called khat were found in Magdalena Żuk's body. It has amphetamine-like effects. This is said to be revealed by a report on Magdalena's death by the Egyptian authorities. Journalists wonder if this drug could have caused her strange behaviour, and ultimately her death? "Magda was literally an enemy of drugs", her sister Anna Cieślińska stated in an interview with Gazeta Wrocławska. "She would never have taken drugs herself, voluntarily."
The investigation has so far taken more than two years, and no end is in sight yet, with more questions than answers remaining. Polish specialists and the family of Magda are still waiting for research documents, reports and test samples that were taken shortly after her death. And although the body of Magdalena Żuk was quickly brought to Poland, the corpse was treated with chemicals and embalmed, meaning that the Polish experts' research may not give the correct results, explains lawyer Paweł Jurewicz, representative of the Magdalena Żuk family. He also criticized investigators: "We know no more now, than at the beginning of this investigation. In the past two years we have not seen any more documents from Egypt from the local public prosecutor. And without them we cannot end the investigation", emphasized Paweł Jurewicz. "For two years already we have been assured that the documents will be sent. But for the time being only a report about the performed steps has come." What's worse, when Magdalena Żuk's sister - Anna Cieślińska - and her father - Tadeusz Żuk - went to Egypt together with a team from media channel TVN in early 2019, in hope of finding out the truth and in an attempt to get answers and documents from the authorities, something shocking happened..
Magdalena's father was actually given a deal by an Egyptian official: if he officially signed his daughters cause of death to be a suicide, he would be given the Egyptian case file, with all the information about what happened to her. A file that is until now guarded by Egypt and not released. He was appalled and refused to. The family declared this in a live TV airing from media channel TVN. They were being filmed in their hometown of Bogatynia. "Of course", Magda's father refused to, because, as he said it, even if the documents then turned out to contain information about who were responsible for his daughters dramatic death, the case in Egypt would be ended with his signature declaring to accept she died of a suicide. And the Polish public prosecutor could then do nothing.. During their stay in Egypt, father and daughter had also visited the hotel where Magda stayed and the hospital where the tragedy took place. They met people who could provide valuable information, including the manager of the hotel, Foud Gamala, and hospital staff and a lawyer (this, despite hotel staff leaking that they had been prohibited to discuss the case with anyone). Magda's father told in the TV airing that he had spoken with the nurse who was with Magda when she fell out the window, and that this nurse had told him that his daughter lay half a meter away from a wall, after her fall, with her head turned to the left, and under the ventilator of an airconditioning unit. Tadeusz Żuk was surprised by this, because the post-sectional report had stated that her turned head was the result of a fall off the stairs. Stairs which are positioned 2 to 2,5 meters away from the wall, Magdalena's father said. He and Magda's mother and sister believe that she was murdered. In August 2018, Magdalena Żuk's sister wrote on Facebook that the latest materials in the case file clearly show that Magda Żuk was the victim of a crime. In response, the spokesperson for the national public prosecutor Ewa Bialik stated that no new circumstances had emerged in the case of Żuk's death. Magda's family doesn't believe the woman committed suicide. Magda Żuk was not mentally ill, they emphasize, she underwent no psychiatric treatment and did not take any medication related to mental illness. Paweł Jurewicz, the representative of Magdalena Żuk's family, confirmed all this to media outlet 'Onet' in August. "You must want to commit suicide. The materials we know of clearly lead to the fact that Magda was the victim of crime, and this is the most up-to-date and the only information that is really acceptable", stressed Jurewicz. He agrees "without a doubt" that the latest materials in the case file on Magdalena's death clearly demonstrate that Magdalena Żuk was a victim of a crime.
Mr. Jurewicz has not changed his mind on this. Until this day he is of the opinion that if the 27-year-old wanted to commit suicide, she would not have traveled to Egypt for it. He emphasizes that the family has insight in the case files; "Today we know much more [about the details of the case] than what has been shown in the media. If the public prosecutor would provide the information it has to the public, I think it would all be much clearer" - says Paweł Jurewicz.
He knows the facts, also the facts which make it clear to him and Magda's family how she died, but cannot make them public because he would commit a crime with that and would risk going to prison for it, as long as the investigation is running. However, Paweł Jurewicz is not only critical; he also praises the dedication from the Polish public prosecutors office to help with every request from the family to investigate new evidence that emerges in the case. Recent evidence requests related to the appearance of new relevant data in the case have been fully taken into account, he emphasizes, even though these investigations were expensive. "In that context, I cannot say a bad word about the public prosecutor. It's a pity however that they don't want to reveal the newly discovered material." But for the family of Magdalena, the stress from years of ongoing research, without any official clarity, is putting a heavy strain on them. The family would prefer it if the Polish prosecution would reveal at least some information they have. They refuse this however. Locals who they spoke with in Marsa Alam think that her drinks were spiked with drugs, "Someone put drugs in her drinks or she was given the rape-pill. No doubt about it", local Mohamed stated. "What a beautiful girl, what a shame". The families' lawyers declared during the live TV airing that they believe that Magdalena Żuk was the victim of a crime. They believe that she was given narcotics. We believe she was given heavy medication during her trip to Egypt, said lawyer Sebastian Duliniec, who represents the Żuk family. They spoke to the hotel manager in Egypt, who assured them that after his staff noticed Magdalena's strange behavior, she was treated like a child. Employees were asked to keep an eye on her. He also underlined that it is very difficult to buy drugs in Egypt. Therefore he believed that if she was drugged, she must have had these drugs already in her possession before she arrived. However, despite not having been treated in hospital when she was first brought in, the hospital staff also wasn't instructed to test her blood for medication, despite everyone agreeing that she was acting "strange". The lawyers from Magdalena's family have also publicly stated that they believe to know that the Egyptian authorities are falsifying materials and are hiding or altering important evidence. Her family members have already claimed to local papers to know secrets about the case, which the Polish officials have explicitly forbidden them to make public as long as the investigation is ongoing. The family have also declared that the Egyptians refuse to send security videos recording the death of Magdalena. And how about Magdelan's stay on a boat all night, and her mobile phones was found to have emitted signals, coming from sea? Who's boat was this, and what happened exactly there?
In 2018 the family also already had communicated with the media that they believe Magdalena was the victim of crime.The family lawyer mentions only seeing 'hands that fall down'. The nurse who was with Magdalena when she fell out the window, has declared openly according to the family lawyer that there exist documents that point towards a crime having taken place. Something which I cannot verify by the way, and something which the Polish prosecution denies so far. Although we are still awaiting their official reports. So we don't know really if it is true or not. Therefore the family has demanded that prosecutors make specific documents public, now, so that the public can see about all this for themselves. This has been refused so far by the Polish investigators and prosecution. In response to all this, the public prosecutor did come with a statement through Tomasz Czułowski, spokesman for the public prosecutor in Jelenia Góra: "There are no new circumstances with regards to the death of Magdalena Żuk. There are also no indications that the death of Magdalena Żuk was the result of a crime. All information so far reported by the public prosecutor's office is up to date. Officers of Justice are currently awaiting the additional opinion of experts from the renowned institute Prof. Dr. J. Sehn in Krakow, which will be published in connection with the evidence from the Egyptian side and the additional IT advice. If there are any new findings that will change the current findings of the study in any way, we will certainly inform you."
Despite extensive research, there is still no clarity on what exactly happened with Magdalena Żuk. Polish investigators on the Egyptian side have still not received complete documentation of the autopsy of Magda Żuk however, and neither all surveillance recordings and testimonies of important witnesses. Although the case is being investigated by a professional team of experts, the lack of full disclosure certainly makes their work very difficult. The public prosecutor emphasized that investigators are now waiting for "an additional expert opinion from the Prof. Dr. Sehn Institute in Krakow, which will be issued on the evidence sent from Egypt". - Until now, the public prosecutor's office questioned and interviewed about 170 witnesses (this source mentions over 200), including air passengers traveling to Egypt in the same plane as Magdalena Żuk, tourists who were staying at the same hotel as her in Egypt, people who saw her at the airport before and after her planned flight back to Poland on April 29th 2017 (which she did not catch in the end), representatives of the travel agency and other persons who saw her. Family members and people close to Magdalena Żuk were also interviewed. Investigators also looked into secured medical records from Magda Żuk from treatments in Poland and from her hospitalization in Egypt. Magdalena Żuk's phone and laptops were examined. The content of computers and telephones of Żuk's family members, including her fiance Markus, was also checked (Markus said later to a reporter that he was planning to marry Magda in the United States in October of 2017 and Magda's sister confirmed this: "They planned to marry in Florida and then to marry a second time in Poland" - although I have no clue how Magdalena was going to pay for such an expensive US wedding, considering she had to borrow money from her parents for this relatively cheap Egypt trip!). The Polish prosecutor in Yelenia Góra has also requested legal assistance from the relevant institutions of the Arab Republic of Egypt. She received from Egypt the list of activities that were carried out within this investigation, including the report from Egyptian medical services. But Poland is still awaiting reports on these activities. Even after the Polish Ambassador in Egypt asked directly for these documents at a meeting with the Deputy Minister for Consular Affairs of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. But despite direct requests for the documentation to be sent to the Attorney General of Egypt, Minister of Justice, Prosecutor General Zbigniew Ziobro, this has not happened yet. The reason why still case is still dragging on is mostly because Egypt has blocked or obstructed Polish insight into comprehensive evidence or documentation from the Egyptian side, which allows a comprehensive explanation of the circumstances and causes of Magdalena’s death. - Nevertheless, Magdalena's sister accuses the Polish prosecution themselves to deliver poor work and she insists that they are pushing a suicide scenario, by hand-selecting very specific psychiatrists who they allow to tell the media that Magdalena must have had a mental crisis. Meanwhile the public opinion in Poland is still leaning towards a crime cover up. One commentator named Clement wrote under an article on this case: "No procedure will take place. Let the family forget this option. Moreover, the time has passed where politicians could win something for themselves. Unfortunately, Poland has no influence in the world. If Magda was American, British or French, the case would have been different from the beginning. Egyptian services have long forgotten the diplomatic tiny and insignificant case of the death of a Polish woman." Polish Express, a tabloid, published a poll, one week after Magdalena died, revealing that 96% of Poles believed that she was murdered in Egypt.

Both Egyptian and Polish prosecutors have been investigating this case. In Egypt the case was led by Egyptian Prosecutor General Nabil Ahmed Sadek. In Poland, Magdalena Żuk's death has been investigated by a special team of 11 people - three public prosecutors and officers of the Internal Security Agency and the Central Research Agency - appointed by the national public prosecutor Bogdan Święczkowski to the prosecutor's office in Jelenia Góra. Despite us, the public, still not knowing what official conclusions prosecutors have come to so far, we do know that they have looked into this case extensively, as Public Prosecutor Czułowski has stated. Polish prosecutor and pathologist participated in an autopsy conducted in Egypt. Like I already stated earlier: the two Polish representatives were only allowed in to view things from a corner; they had no permission to take their own samples from the body for research. This activity was then also carried out in Poland (Institute of Forensic Medicine in Wrocław). But there are persistent and very serious claims that Magda's body was embalmed and chemically treated when it arrived in Poland... Many documents were secured, including those on electronic data media, as well as opinions from experts in forensic medicine, toxicology, biology, IT, psychiatry and psychology. Public Prosecutor Czułowski stated that Magdalena's luggage, her mobile phone and many ICT data were also examined. The members of her family, their former partners, acquaintances, persons traveling with her by air and in Egypt were also interviewed as witnesses. In total, about 200 people people were as such interviewed by officials. The Public Prosecutor added that psychiatrists and psychologists also analyzed the evidence of the abnormal behavior of the victim during the trip and during her stay in Egypt, as well as its possible background.
So, prosecutors have looked into the case extensively and despite refusing to come to the full official conclusions yet (officially because they are still waiting for additional advice from toxicology experts), and despite Egypt withholding quite a bit of investigation data until today, Polish investigators did look already into many theories as to what may have happened with Magdalena. Minister of Justice Zbigniew Ziobro mentioned the following four theories that were investigated officially: an accident scenario, a mental crisis, murder and human trafficking. "But we also look into a version of events in which there are no third parties" - said Chief Inspector Jarosław Szymczyk, Chief Police Officer to TVN24. "Currently, none of the versions is completely excluded, but neither has been confirmed 100%" - he said. He also admitted that the police was looking into human (sex) trafficking from the start, and were also investigating the possibility that such activities started already back in Poland, before continuing in Egypt. A forensic psychologist was asked what might be the reason for the strange behavior of Magdalena. Bohdan Bielski said there were several factors involved. Her erratic behaviour may have been due to a psychoactive substance in her system, a traumatic event of which we are not aware, or it may be due to a mental disorder due to biological nature. And Bielski explained that such unusual, very strong and inadequate behaviour can be the first symptom of mental illness. If Magda had a nervous breakdown, this may have been due to fatigue for instance, or due to the stressful situation with the passport (the woman's partner Markus did not fly with her because he had an invalid passport). And traces of strong drugs were found in her blood: anti-psychotic drugs (specifically; drugs used to treat depression and schizophrenia). They may also have influenced Magda's behaviour.
Hypothesis I - A mental Crisis
The behavior of Magdalena Żuk in the Egyptian hospital was captured by surveillance cameras, and many people think that she showed symptoms of a mental illness. Magdalena was acting so erratic, frightened and strange, with hospital and hotel staff claiming she was impossible to talk to, that investigators wondered if she suffered from a form of psychosis perhaps. They also investigated whether or not Magdalena may have been having manic episodes. The fact that she is said to have booked the all-in holiday to Egypt only 7 hours before the plane departed, without informing her boyfriend first, may possibly also indicate to a manic spell. But Magdalena's family have been adamant that Magda had no history of psychiatric illness whatsoever. No signs, symptoms or a diagnosis for bipolar disorder or manic depression, or any other psychiatric disorder. "Nobody has ever had a mental illness in the family. Nobody had psychiatric problems" - said her father Tadeusz Żuk to local media channel TVN. "She was never sick, she never had psychiatric problems," Magdalena's mother Elżbieta Żuk also explained in TVN's Note. But is it possible that Magdalena suffered a first time mental breakdown after arriving in the hotel in Egypt. Considering that kind of thing can happen suddenly and without warning. There is also information available, explaining that Magdalena was never treated psychiatrically back in Poland, but that she may have received counselling of some sort at some point, due to her father being an alcoholic. Between 2009 and 2011 she is said by some sources to have had individual conversations with a psychologist within a DDA program; Adult Children of Alcoholics. Polish journalists from TVP confirm that Magdalena was never treated psychiatrically, and that she only ever had talks with a psychologist within the DDA program, as part of help for youngsters who have grown up with an alcoholic parent. So this had to do with a relatives alcoholism, not with Magdalena being an alcoholic herself. I don't think these talks indicate much about her possibly having psychiatric problems or mental illness herself. It does not confirm that she suffered from depression either. If anything, her close family have been stating the opposite. Magdalena's sister Anna wrote on
facebook: "My sister has never been treated with a psychiatric or depressive treatment. She was a great young girl who had dreams she wanted. Always full of life, laughter, athletic; she didn't like sitting still for a minute. She was always full of everything. She worked, she studied, she trained, she did sports. She was always pursuing the goals she set for herself and achieved them. And in the last days of her life, she was very happy, she talked about marriage and the wedding [she was engaged, Scarlet] and about her desire to have children. She loved to live. So it's worth noting that depression manifests itself differently." Magdalena's sister also added to her post: "That's why I'm going to talk to all of you now. I appeal to all of you. You're very sorry about Magda's death, so maybe you won't let anyone tell you this nonsense about her [psychiatric] "illness". - Markus also said she Magdalena hadn't used drugs and that he had never seen her like that before. Nevertheless the Polish prosecution have hired a handful of national psychologist, to shed light on the footage of Magdalena, taken from the hotel and hospital. It has angered Magda's family, who accuse the Polish prosecution from protecting people in high places; they think a murder took place within a larger scale human sex trafficking network, originating in Poland. According to Magda's sister Anna, psychiatrists are part of a mock trial of her sister. However Polish prosecutors have stated that they are looking into every possible theory here, even the least likely ones. One of the forensic psychologists who have given his view on Magdalena's mental state is Bohdan Bielski.
"She was in a bad mental state here". Psychologist Bohdan Bielski analyzes the behaviour of Madalena Żuk
"She demonstrated a bad mental state, it's very bad." the psychologist comments on Magdalena Żuk's behavior on camera, while watching the footage that was taken of her in the hotel on Friday (lying curled up and motionless in the door of her room). Forensic psychologist Bohdan Bielski identifies Magdalena's state as being horrified by something. He thinks that she was showings signs of an advanced medical conditions. At some point it is difficult to tell whether she has fainted or was asleep. He describes her behavior as "completely unusual". "She does not respond to the man's voice, she does not give any signs of life, but we know that she is alive. She may be in a state of restricted consciousness; of helplessness." When Bielski is asked by the TVN24 journalist whether or not he thinks that Magdalena is showing more signs of depression or of the effects of pharmacological agents, Bielski answers: "This issue will not be resolved. These symptoms may be signs of both intoxication as well as of a developing psychiatric disease.’ In his opinion, Magdalena Żuk was not under the influence of the effects of a 'rape pill'. "I would be careful with that; such opinions do not have a scientific basis, the rape pill distorts consciousness and memory, but it does not cause paralysis," he says. Bohdan Bielski also commented on the recorded conversation between Magdalena Żuk and her partner Markus W. According to him, Magdalena is showing a strong reaction from horror in the video, either saying nothing, or saying something which is mumbled and which we can't understand. "This is a poor mental state, very bad," he adds. He finds this behaviour puzzling. Just as it is puzzling why she was barred from flying back home on Saturday. "Perhaps the service recognized that there was a security risk" - said Bielski. He clearly sees that Magdalena is afraid of something, but he can't say for sure if there is a real risk, or if she is imagining a risk (within a psychiatric disease syndrome). Her behaviour is clearly not that of a healthy person, but it can be interpreted in many ways, the psychiatrist underlines. How about Magdalena's refusal to answer whether or not she had been hurt? - the TVN24 journalist asks Bielski. She could have said yes or no, after all? Bielski answers: "But she says that she is afraid. And next to her stands the resident as I understand it [Mahmoud the Polish speaking travel agent, Scarlet] and therefore I can identify the threat also as his presence there." In other words: he thinks that Magda may have been afraid because of Mahmoud. Then Bielski comments on the hospital footage of the Friday, showing Magdalena pacing up and down the hospital gardens, while telephoning. Bielski analyses: "Here we can see some uncomfortable behaviour. She is walking around, but her steps are not aimed at the entrance. This can point towards a disturbed spatial organization, but they can also reflect normal behavior during an intense telephone call", Bohdan Bielski says. "It can be disturbed movement organization, but it's not that disturbing to me", he says. Then the forensic psychologist focuses on the video footage in the hospital on Saturday. "Here we see a very strong agitation, a strong degree of fear. The staff are not aggressive, but Magdalena is highly agitated, making it difficult to hold her in place. She may be acting like this due to psychoactive substances, but also due to a disease" -assessed Bielski. Regarding her later jump out of the hospital window he says: "This is an escape response. It is difficult to interpret as a planned suicide attempt; like a terror reaction that lasts multiple days" - Bielski said. The TVN24 journalist also shows pictures to the forensic psychologist from the transport of Magdalena Żuk to the next hospital on Sunday morning. She arrived there in a stable state, but suddenly her heart stopped beating.. What does Bielski see in this footage of Magdalena being transported? "She is conscious, she is bound and she does not exhibit any signs of agitation. Maybe this is after they have given her drugs. But there was a heart attack; we do not know if it was the result of an injury she suffered, which was misdiagnosed" - Bielski replied. This story is unusual and mysterious. It's unusual because it ends dramatically. And its mysterious, because we don't have any evidence that she left Poland in a poor emotional condition. Something happened in Egypt, which caused this disease and it is very worrisome. Bohdan Bielski likes to emphasize also a warning he has for people who travel on their own to a country with a different culture. "The world is not safe."
"This was clearly suicide". Criminologist professor Hołyst analyzes the behaviour of Madalena ŻukIn a radio interview, Prof. Hołyst is straight forward in his categorical rejection of the theories that Magdalena Żuk was raped and murdered. In his opinion, Magdalena committed suicide. Even though the cause of death of the 27-year-old Polish woman is still unknown, criminologist Professor Brunon Hołyst from Lazarski University, believes that suicide is the most likely explanation as to what happened. He mentions a deeper depression or the Egyptian climate as potential triggers. Prof. Hołyst refers here to Magdalena's mental condition and behavior in the Egyptian hospital, as well as the content of the conversation she had with her boyfriend. He has no doubt that her trip to Egypt worsened her mental state. "A hot climate does not have a positive effect on mood when a person has problems with his or her psyche." Perhaps she had some additional problems which she could not overcome, the professor muses on, and this may have caused an increase in mental tension, which led her to the hospital and in the end to a tragic death - he says in an interview with RadioZET.pl. And in this revision article, his point of view was further elaborated. A journalist recalls the professors words. "The case is very interesting, but many myths have emerged around it"- prof. Hołyst said. "You should start with the principle of "cui bono?", or "who benefited" from the crime. If it was human trafficking, the the woman would the woman have been abducted, and why would she the have been killed?" He asked. In his opinion, the Polish woman committed suicide. "Because it's hard to believe someone killed her in a closed treatment facility in a hospital" - prof. Hołyst said.
Detective and former policeman's view on the telephone call
The footage of the conversation that Magdalena had with her boyfriend, was shown to a detective and former policemen. Here are his views on some stand out aspects of the footage. Markus is repeating the term "don't be afraid" a lot. According to the detective, this means that Markus had knowledge that the girl had a reason to be afraid. The former police negotiator also draws attention to the non-verbal message that Magdalena Żuk sends. "When the girl made such moves with her hands... What does it mean? She shows her wrists, the skin below the wrists, which holds the strongest marks if someone is restrained". The detective thinks that she is trying to make something clear to Markus non-verbally. Because she is afraid of the men around her, and especially of Mahmoud who speaks Polish. People who have been traumatized, who have become victims of a crime, behave in a similar way, the detective thinks.
"A lot has been said about mental illness, but the evidence to the contrary has been omitted", says family lawyer Paweł Jurewicz The family lawyer of the Żuk family, Paweł Jurewicz, has complained in the press that the Polish prosecution allowed for a psychologist and a criminologist to make public media statements about Magdalena's supposed mental state, when in fact the evidence in the case files proves the opposite. "We have asked for certain documents to be published because, in this case, a lot has been said about mental illness and the evidence to the contrary has been omitted." He and the family are upset that they are not allowed to set the record straight here, because if they release any facts from the ongoing investigation, they themselves will be charged with violating the secret of the procedure. "The public prosecutor's office has evidence that points to a different scenario than the one presented by researchers to date, i.e. suicide due to a mental illness. Why doesn't the parquet say anything about this?" The family has always insisted that Magdalena Żuk has never suffering from a mental illness. It cannot be the case, their lawyer underlines, that specific case information has been published in the media, consciously leaked as such by people from the investigation, except for the information which proves she was the victim of a crime. According the Magdalena's sister and parents - who have insight in the case file and investigation - there is no doubt about that. The lawyer also says that it's completely ridiculous that prosecutors leaked evidence that Magdalena Żuk was using medication for a mental illnesses. The family denies these reports. He criticizes how the Public Prosecutor's Office - being the host of the procedure - abuses their power to leak very specific things to the press.
In the lawyers opinion there is only one reason for this: because the prosecution is trying to lead the public opinion to one scenario, and one scenario only. That Magdalena Żuk had some sort of psychiatric condition. "The professors talked about her alleged illness, but if they knew the files that the Public Prosecutor's office is holding back and does not want to reveal, they would have turned red from shame now."
When asked "Do you suggest that the suicide version is more useful for persecution?", Paweł Jurewicz answers: "What suicide? If anyone wants to end up like that, they must first want to die. Did Magdalena Żuk look like a person who didn't want to live? If someone wants to take their own life, they go to the store, they buy a rope, they go to a lone tree and they do it. They don't go on holiday to an exotic country." Paweł Jurewicz is also highly critical about the fact that the Polish investigation commission has until today not obtained the most important evidence in the case, which still lingers around in Egypt. This is no coincidence: "Someone does not want this evidence to come to Poland. Unfortunately, I am in an uncomfortable position where I cannot reveal details to support my words, because investigators have forbidden me to.
What if the Polish investigators will never obtain the hard-needed evidence from the Egyptian side? "Then the procedure cannot be completed. It can only be terminated then, due to a lack of indicative evidence. But only I, the family of Magdalena Żuk and the public prosecution know [the details of this case]. The sister of Magdalena says openly that there are documents indicating that a crime has been committed. The public prosecutor's office is officially denying this. That is why the family is asking investigators to release specific documents so that public can judge this for themselves. But the public prosecutor does not want to do this. Instead, they are leaking little trinkets from the investigation to the press from time to time; things which they do want the public to know. Sometimes these are details which we have not even had access to yet. Its all aimed at one thing: setting up a story line that is supposed to point to a suicide." For instance, it was leaked that the researchers obtained certain materials from the Egyptian authorities. I read about it in the newspaper, and when I called the prosecutor's office, those who are running the procedure, I heard that they didn't actually have documents like that. "In the meantime, the sister of Magda Żuk submitted a request about public documents of the procedure... She received information that this procedure would now be carried out by the public prosecutor on the other side of Poland. This is how they deal with the whole issue of Magdalena Żuk's death."
Hypothesis II - Drugs or medicine use
Traces of powerful psychiatric drugs were officially found in Magdalena's body, including a substance used to treat psychosis, schizophrenia, and/or depression. Researchers, however, do not wish to comment on this. But Magdalena's family have hinted to this protected information in the file case on Magda's death.
And the latest information, dating from May 2019, shows that traces of the popular African drug khat were found in Magda Żuk's body. This information about the drug is a new fact, coming from an Egyptian report from a local investigation into Magda's death, which only arrived in Poland some time ago. Of course, with the leaking of data we have to be careful, as it is not sure who leaked it, why, and if it is true or the whole truth here. So what is khat anyway? Khat works in a similar way as amphetamine and is a stimulating drug. In the brain, khat increases the level of dopamine, the neurotransmitter which makes you feel good. It also stimulates the release of the stress hormone norepinephrine, which makes you more alert—almost hyper. Its effects are listed as follows: Euphoria, loss of appetite, increased energy, increased sociability, increased alertness, cheerfulness, sense of well-being, reduction of boredom. These are not all symptoms linked to the strange behaviour from Magdalena, however. Yes, she was said to not have eaten at all in the hotels restaurant, according to other guests. So she may have had loss of appetite. But stress itself can give that same effect. She also seemed anxious and repressed; not euphoric and cheerful. However: "The effects of khat can last 90 minutes to 3 hours. Users may feel depressed and irritable, and have trouble eating and sleeping once it wears off." - "In the body, khat can increase blood pressure and heart rate. Using khat a lot or over a long period of time can cause tooth decay, gum disease, and heart problems. It can also cause problems with your stomach and digestive tract, such as constipation, ulcers, pain, and tumors." - Perhaps khat is somehow vaguely linked to Magdalena's eventual heart attack? It seems far-fetched, considering she had fallen from a second storey window shortly before, and was said to be seriously injured from that, which seems a much more plausible cause for heart failure. "Although we don’t yet know if khat is addictive, research shows it can be very harmful to your health, which is why it is illegal in this country. It is considered by the World Health Organization to be a drug of abuse." Magdalena's sister Anna Cieślińska is adamant however that Magdalena would never have voluntarily taken drugs, not even khat, because she was "an enemy of drugs".
Khat is the basis for a synthetic and much stronger version of it, called Flakka. Flakka is a strong amphetamine-like (man-made) substance, which devastating effects are also seen in the United States for instance. One of the doctors of the hospital in Marsa Alam, Tarek Ahmed, gave a statement on TV and revealed that "a new medication, called flakka, may have been given to Magdalena". And that it is a very dangerous drug in fact. Anyone taking it soon behaves like they have lost their mind. Its impossible to make contact with them. According to this doctor, Magda behaved in a very similar way. Experts explain that the drug gives a high that is similar to cocaine, but flakka can be much more dangerous to the body. It makes your body temperature rise and thus people who use it often take their clothes off (Magdalena also took her top off at some point, according to some hotel guests). And some of its symptoms? Paranoia, strange hallucinations, psychosis, excited delirium... Things that may link to Magdalena's behaviour. They also get 'superhuman strength' and "it takes a lot of people to hold them down..". Excited delirium, out of control of their own bodies.. "People think they're being chased; that they're being shot at. It's cheap. A few dollar gets people high as a kite. This woman used flakka, ended up on top of a bridge and jumped off. So another paranoid jump after the same drug which the hospital doctor links to Magda's behaviour... I think her symptoms may very well be linked to Egyptians in the hotel spiking her drink and giving Magdalena a substance like flakka; then sexually abused her. And the combination of trauma, panic, fear and drugs resulted in what we have seen from Magdalena on the hospital cameras..
And then there was the local Egyptian woman, who has told a friend on the phone that people spiked Magdalena's drinks with drugs. Something which Magdalena herself also told friends on the phone. If true, drugs are used in many countries for "reaping the benefits of using women for
sexual purposes with the use of violence, deception or chemicals". These are serious crimes, where women are sexually abused and often by deception sent abroad, and later become the subject of serious sexual crimes and abuse in relation to them" - said Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General Zbigniew Ziobro. Problem in all this, is that Egypt have pulled a trick on the Poles. Like I wrote already above, the Żuk family lawyer, Paweł Jurewicz, criticizes the one-sided and unexplained decision from the Egyptian investigators to send Magdalena's body to Poland for a second opinion in an embalmed state.
Paweł Jurewicz confirmed: "Blood and all liquids were removed. So tests — even toxicological ones — that have been carried out by us may most likely not give the correct results. And in Egypt, samples were taken to test during autopsy, including blood samples. But they have not been sent to Poland yet! (And Poles present were not given permission to take their own samples during this first autopsy). And questions about the cause of this tragedy cannot be fully answered without this toxicological evidence." During the Egyptian autopsy, two Polish representatives were present, however it has become public knowledge that "the Egyptian authorities have not allowed these Polish representatives to take small fragments of Magdalena's body for testing". No toxicological testing from the Poles therefore and no other reliable testing due to the state of the body that was sent eventually to Poland... It's unbelievable almost... Egypt has most certainly pulled a trick on Poland here, and it beggars all belief why they until now have not sent the blood test results and other toxicological evidence to the Polish prosecution and investigators... What are they trying to hide?
According to the detectives of the Lampart investigation group, Magda's terrible condition was in fact the result of what had happened during the night of Thursday April 27th, when she was staying on a ship, with Magdalena "repeatedly having sexual intercourse". They also established that: "With this matter it was attempted to carefully ensure that it would not be possible to carry out credible research in that regard. However, in a very orderly fashion, you can actually successfully make this thesis [that she had sexual intercourse with multiple people], based on forensic examinations that showed the presence of biological traces of at least a few men on her clothing. Shortly afterwards, the medical doctor Marek Ahmed confirms this. She was also given strong drugs produced from a compound called alpha PVP, a chemical cousin and a new amphetamine-like drug." So what the detective group found, is that these drugs found in Magda's system, could either indicate that she was given medication for her strange behaviour by doctors in the hospital, but that this is a chicken of egg situation basically. Because these drugs by themselves can also CAUSE patients to develop an extremely powerful feeling of paranoia and hallucinations. So was Magdalena first acting psychotic and did doctors thén give her the medication that was found in her blood? OR, was she first given the medication - in the form of drugs - and does that explain her strange erratic behaviour as soon as she had settled into the hotel on the Wednesday? As detectives underline; "Up to 70% of cooperative drug chemical derivatives are known to cause illness, and in particular for people to become aggressive. They feel they have superhuman strength and are resistant to pain. Drug abuse can lead to an extremely powerful feeling of paranoia and hallucinations." So there is no clarity provided by investigators whether or not Magdalena was first given the drugs and as a result of this seemingly lost the plot. Or if the drugs came last in the chain of events, given in an attempt to control her mental instability?
Magda's sister Anna Cieślinska and her father went to Egypt early 2019, in the hope of finding more answers. They have been waiting for more than two years now for the outcome of the investigation. Through a local lawyer, they tried to reach the local authorities and obtain at least some copies of documents. But they failed. They were left stunned when this lawyer gave Magdalena's father a very strange offer: he said that if his father admitted on paper that Magda had killed herself, he would be handed the documents that everyone is after in Poland quickly - recalled Anna Cieślinska. He refused. Because Magdalena's family is convinced that Magda didn't kill herself. They also are certain that she wasn't mentally ill. But the family does like to know more about these traces of the drugs found in Magda's blood. Can they explain her strange behavior? Forensic and toxicological experts have not yet answered this question. Nor have they revealed the exact name of the drug that was found. Meanwhile, the head of the Red Sea Hospital in Hurghada, Dr. Mohamed Samy Gomaa, continues to insist that according to reports from hospital staff in Port Ghalib, Magda wanted to kill herself and jumped out of the window. She was supposed to be aggressive towards workers and in order to calm her down, medication was given to her. At this point, we don't know exactly what medication they gave her. The family of Magdalena believe that she was drugged. When the sister and father were in Egypt, the hotel manager of the Three Corners Equinox Resort Beach Hotel, where Magda stayed, agreed to talk to her. He said: "I've worked for 31 years in the hotel industry, and this was the first time that I saw such a thing. For example, she ran and fell herself. She did it on purpose. They called me on five, and they said she wanted to jump off the slope. I told the staff to not leave her alone, no matter where she went, and to treat her like a child. In the hotel lobby, she appeared in her underwear, she pulled off her jeans. Maybe she went mad because she was here alone." "Or maybe she used drugs?" - "Maybe. I don't know. Here in this country it's very hard to get drugs. When someone smoked hashish cigarettes, I had to notify the police. If I don't notify the police and the police catch someone outside and ask them from which hotel they're coming, I'm going to go to jail first. We have strict rules here. Even if someone goes outside the hotel, we write their passport data in the book. A policeman comes in daily and checks it out. If someone is late they check right away which driver took them, and where did he go. I have to report this to the police. I'm 100 percent sure she took some medication before she arrived here." The hospital manager of the Port Ghalib hospital also agreed to an interview. He was the one who made the hospital video monitoring recordings public. "It's the recording they hold her on because she tried to jump out of the window. People held her so she wouldn't jump out, they wanted to save her." The hospital manager checked whether Magdalena Żuk's research archives were in the archive, which were not kept by the Egyptian prosecutor's office. He found CT photographs taken just after she fell out the window; photographs that Anna and her father had not yet seen before. When asked about drug testing, the manager replied that such tests had not been carried out in his hospital. "Sometimes a doctor orders such tests, but here we saw that there was something wrong with her mind." She behaved normally and changed within two seconds. If you are looking for answers, do not look for reasons in the hospital. You have to find out what happened to her before she came here. She came to us. I would like you to say that the source of her problem lies in Poland, and not with us. We have nothing to hide." The resident [Mahmoud], who had to look after Magdalena Żuk during her stay in Egypt, proved to be elusive. Anna and her father could not get a hold of him. The hotel staff claimed that he had changed jobs and telephone numbers. Can Mahmoud perhaps explain the mystery of why and what drugs were found in Magdalene Żuk's blood? "I'm sure she was given something." She would not consciously use drugs because she was highly against the use of drugs. Someone wanted to abuse her" - says Magdalena's sister. Markus also said she Magdalena hadn't used drugs and that he had never seen her like that before.
But the fact that Magdalena started to act out of character and distressed as soon as she had installed herself in the hotel in Egypt, does raise some questions about the possibility that she may have been drugged from that moment onwards. And that drugs may explain her strange behaviour, as well as her being found as good as unconscious on the Friday morning. Could this have been a psychotic episode brought on by drugs in her system? There have been statements made online that Magda told her family on the phone that she thought her drink had been spiked. "When she finally called, she sounded strange. She said someone had probably spiked her drink with something", her friend stated. It is also mentioned in this video. Magda was seen drinking alcohol after she landed in Egypt and it is possible that someone put something in her drink - apparently that kind of thing is relatively common in that area. Magdalena had several drinks with hospital workers on the night of her arrival, according to some witnesses who were in her travel group. Were her drinks spiked with drugs? Human traffickers are known to drug people in order to make them easier to control. What's to say the travel agent wasn't in on this? Explaining his presence from day two more or less, and his consistent presence by her side in the days that followed? Is that the reason why Mahmoud and the people that were with him made her stop making her flight back home? Until today, it is not certain who exactly banned Magdalena from getting on that plane back home. Many people have disputed that an 'airport doctor' was even present. Others dispute that the main pilot would get out of his cockpit to assess passengers for fitness to fly.. And like the psychologist Bielski stated: if Magdalena in fact did jump herself; who was she trying to escape from then? Could drugs have made her paranoia and hallucinating? And is there any way she was drugged on Wednesday and still feeling the effects on Saturday, or would she have had to be repeatedly drugged? But wouldn't any drugs strong enough to trigger a psychotic break have shown up in an autopsy? How long do some type of chemicals remain in the body anyway? Is it true that after 24 hrs, there could be no trace left of (some type of) them in the blood?
Besides: the hospital director has confirmed that no blood tests were performed at the time in the hospital. And the autopsy was done 10 days after the death of the 27-year-old. So how much IS actually going to be realistically picked up on by then??
And of course, we do not have the official autopsy yet. And going by the strange uncooperative ways of Egypt until now, and their absurd decision to embalm the body before sending it to Poland for autopsy, who is to say those blood test results from them are reliable? The same blood test results which have still not reached Poland until this day? Without the full autopsy report it is hard to conclude that Magdalena was drugged.
Otterykhaleesi wrote on this topic: "All I can really add to this is about the drugging and how long it lasts. I’ve had my drink spiked before and it was a Saturday night. I was still tired/ nauseous/ exhausted and a little spaced until the following Wednesday. It does depend on people’s metabolism and the strength/type of the drug, but it’s definitely plausible that she was still under some influence. Stuff like rohypnol takes a while to clear the system fully."
JustWantTheGuineaPig wrote on this topic: "I wonder if Mahmoud (or whoever else) drugged her, and the drugs were contaminated/ cut with something else? So instead of having the desired effect, it either triggered a psychosis or exacerbated a pre-existing issue. At which point her paranoia was legitimate, coupled with being in a foreign country on her own, and perhaps this scared her to the point that it was worth jumping out of that window to get away. It may explain why Mahmoud was in such close contact with her. Maybe he "only" meant to drug and rape her, but it all went completely out of control and he was trying to help her/ cover his own tracks? Or maybe he was just a nice guy who went beyond his role as holiday rep to help a girl in a crisis, who knows."
Sebastian Duliniec, representative of the Magdalena Żuk family, also stated: "In my opinion, and in the belief of the family, Magdalena Żuk was a victim of crime. Narcotics were given to her during her trip to Egypt. We believe it were heavy drugs."
Hypothesis III - A crime took place Prof. Hołyst said: "You should start with the principle of "cui bono?", or "who benefited" from the crime. If it was human trafficking, the the woman would the woman have been abducted, and why would she the have been killed?" He asked. In his opinion, the Polish woman committed suicide. - Because it's hard to believe someone killed her in a closed treatment facility in a hospital - prof. Hołyst said.
Another take on this is that Magdalena may initially have been used as a sex worker, either voluntarily, or sold by her boyfriend. Within this theory it is possible that drugs applied to her had an extreme effect on her, and that as a result her tormentors pretended to be the good Samaritans. Hence, Mahmoud and his pals were in her hotel room, making photos and videos from her while she was curled up in her bathrobe on the bed, seemingly afraid and in a protective position. And that may explain why Mahmoud and others were able to chase her through the hospital hallways close to midnight. I don't understand why they were even allowed in the hospital corridors at that point. There have been a lot of accusations made unofficially against Markus W. also on the internet. Claims that Magdalena's brand new boyfriend Markus W. had her go to Egypt to work as a prostitute. If this is true, it probably makes it unlikely that he knew nothing of the 'surprise birthday holiday tickets' that Magda bought for him and her. That would be a made-up story then. It has also been suggested that 'the resident', Mahmoud, may have been involved in what happened to Magda. "M" could be referring to Mahmoud (we know he was there when she made the call so she would not want to give his full name); the way Magda was acting during the call could be interpreted as her being scared to talk in front of the people she was with. It is also a little odd that Magda often used Mahmoud's phone, despite her own phone, presumably, being usable (she told Markus on the video call that she would call him back from her phone). According to this video, one source stated that Mahmoud "has a reputation for attempting to drug women". Written shortly after the incident, the Independant article states: "People in Marsa Alam say that he has “disappeared” and deleted his Facebook account shortly after photos from it appeared in the Polish tabloids." However, Mahmoud was questioned by Egyptian police shortly after and released without charge. Although the Poles complaint that they had no opportunity to ask Mahmoud anything, and that he never gave them a witness statement.. Maciej S. (the mutual friend of Magdalena and Markus, who visits her on Sunday morning in Egypt) tells the media that Mahmoud had been scratched badly by Magdalena in his face. We have never seen any evidence of this however; not on the video footage and no selfies or other photo evidence.. And Magdalena's sister Anna has told the press that Mahmoud was sent on a forced holiday to avoid journalists, and that she knows of one occasion where Mahmoud was in fact cornered by one journalist; once he was asked some questions, his cellphone went off and someone ordered him not to say a thing to the reporter. Anna, who was in Egypt with her father at the time, found this very strange. "They later explained that this was due to the ongoing investigation in Egypt, but we knew that this investigation had already ended there by then." She believes that both the travel agent, the Egyptian hotel, the Egyptian hospital, the insurance agency and the Egyptian state have a vested interest in insisting that Magdalena had a psychiatric illness; in order to protect their tourist industry.
Magda's family believe she has been raped and murdered, With the case file protected, and with the Egyptian investigation locked in Egypt, there is currently no evidence of this however. If Magdalena was drugged, it is likely that rape was a motive, but we have no certainty that she was drugged in the first place. There is a theory that Magda was already unconscious when she fell (or in this case, was thrown out of the window). This is based on the pattern of her injuries, which are all on the left side of her body, without defense injuries. While I do question some of the actions of the staff (for example, the nurse untying Magda all by himself considering the state she was in), I can't see the direct reason why the hospital staff would want her dead. And if someone like Mahmoud - who was present in that hospital - killed her, then at the very least the nurse was lying and covering for someone. Which is not impossible I guess, if money or threats were involved. If Magda was drugged and abused then she may be a liability once she is back in Poland again. After all, the respectably Lampart Group came with some incriminating infor-mation. Piotr Wroński, retired colonel of intelligence and counter-intelligence, said: "This is a dirty case based on a lot of money. It's about human trafficking. Someone in Poland had to prepare it all. There must have been recipients. It started in Poland and ended in Egypt."
The Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General Zbigniew Ziobro mysteriously stated, without giving details, that Magdalena may have been the victim of "a broader practice with regard to trafficking in human beings and the benefits of organized crime" - Such activities could not only concern Magdalena and this circumstance would indicate - he added - a particularly serious nature of this crime. It is also possible that not one of these three scenario's was in place: could Magdalena have had a psychotic episode, brought on by drugs in her system? Human traffickers are known to drug people in order to make them easier to control and therefore kidnap. One theory is that local Polish mafia from Wroclaw sold her to an Egyptian kingpin, called captain Khaled. The Red Sea area is known to be a port for rich yacht owners, who like the availability of pretty, exclusive and European prostitutes. During the telephone call between Magda and Markus, you can hear Mahmoud talk to someone, who many think is the infamous Captain Khaled. The conversation is in Arabic and I have added most of what I could find in this video, in the colour yellow. However, not everything has gone in there. At some point Mahmoud K., the resident of the travel agency which arranged the trip to Egypt (Mahmoud who is accompanying Magdalena Ż.), can be heard reporting in the background what happens with the woman to someone via the phone:
- She is facing me
- Yes, I'm talking to you, she's standing in front of me
- Her boyfriend is talking to her, trying to calm her down and is saying to her: "wait, I'll be there tomorrow" (going by the tone of this voice, he was amused).
- She looks like she will repeat... and enter the hotel, she will lock herself and do something.
- Hehe ... yeah, boss.
Further fragments of the Arabic dialogue show that the resident was respectful of the person he talked to: - If Allah wills, Mr president.
- Ok, good, good... may I have the honor and get to know you? OK, all right, captain Khaled!
The resident had to repeatedly assure the mysterious captain Khaled that he did not let the Pole out of his sight: - I'm standing in front of her.
It can be heard, that the resident is increasingly impatient with the whole situation.
- May God... these crazy customers... She does not want to stop... and finally give her a ***!
- I'm saying: you have to give her a ***!
In the eleventh minute of the footage, when Magda finally looks like she may start to give some sort of answer to Markus as to what happened to her, Mahmoud reacts. You can hear him speaking Polish to Magdalena Ż, off camera.
Magda, ***! I thought, that...[we would only discuss the hospital]
The impression is that Magda is then too afraid to say anything more in the presence of the resident.
Captain Khaled

And an Egyptian colleague of Mahmoud spoke to the press, and stated that he thinks Mahmoud is behind Magdalena's death. He worked as a local guide together with Mahmoud, and in the same hotel where Magda stayed. He says in coveted terms that Mahmoud is probably guilty of Magdalena Żuk's death: "He's the number one suspect. He is such Casanova in Hurgada." He himself had to flee from Egypt, where he says his life was in danger. He added: "She was not really depressed. They give women tablets. They're called Tramadol and Tamol. They add it to their drink and do whatever they want with these women." He claims that these drugs work more or less like a rape drug and that Magdalena was most likely one of the many victims of Mahmoud and his colleagues. The fact that someone from Mahmouds direct surroundings is telling this, weighs heavy according to the journalist.
In this news article, journalists wonder if Magdalena Żuk became the victim of a specific Egyptian molestation 'woman's game' called Taharrush Jamai? A "cruel practice rooted in the Arab mentality". Aka: gang rape. Taharrush meaning ‘collective harassment’ in Arabic is a practice where women are openly raped or sexually assaulted by large crowd of men in a barbaric manner. These offenders are bolder because they feel safe in numbers. As these occurrences take place in very large crowds, the offenders usually go unpunished as it would be difficult to determine who did what. The journalist of the article states that "There are many indications that Magda may have been the victim of mass intimidation in Egypt, called taharrush jamai. It is a practice rooted in the Arab mentality towards women. It's the fact that a group of men surround a lone, defenseless woman and touch, undress, penetrate her with their fingers. Taharrush often ends up in mass rape, though not always. Magdalena may have referred to it, perhaps, when she told Markus frightened in the video call: "They have different tricks here. They're doing everything to me here!" The words she used and the gestures she made have worried psychologists and journalists alike. In this article it is openly asked if Magda may have been the victim of harassment and even rape? There are more examples of victims of this Taharrush Jamai, including western female journalists in Egypt and German girls in German towns. These victims cannot recover mentally for long unless they receive "rapid, professional psychological help", or else "they can take their lives". Was the lone Magdalena from Poland the victim of such a ‘game’? She wouldn't be the first/ According to British data, as many as 22 inhabitants of Poland were subjected to harassment and rape in Egyptian resorts in recent times. As a result, two hotels lost their licenses. Other countries do not collect comparable data, but it is likely that Polish, German or Russian women are often the victims of similar crimes. Egyptians - residents of travel agencies - may participate in the organization of cruel "games for women", the journalist claims. Taharrush jamai is "playing with a woman", and deeply rooted in the Arab mentality. The aim is not - in spite of appearances - sexual gratification, but "her punishment". It's only done in a public space, to women who don't have a man's protection and can be sparked off by something as simple as an outfit that is considered too revealing, too heavily applied makeup, the absence of headgear etc. Young women traveling to Arab countries must take this into account. And not even older women who travel with their husband and kids are always safe; in this case the hotel staffer who groped a mother with her kids present was beaten up by fellow hotel staff and the victim was offered money if the police was kept out of things. Charming... Wikipedia states that rape is one of the most common crimes in Egypt.
And there are other cases...There are many cases of tourists who ended up raped or worse in Egypt. Here are a couple of examples. In 2011 Russian tourist Sabina Ismailova (22) for instance also went on her own to a five-star hotel in Hurghada. The Pyramisa Blue Lagoon Resort Hotel is lying north of Marsa Alam and in the same place as where Magdalena eventually ended up hospitalized. Poor Sabina Ismailova was tortured, raped, sedated and had boiling water poured over her during an attack that lasted for two hours. It happened in her hotel, on the second day of her holiday. The person who attacked her that badly worked at the hotel; 18-year-old plumber Mustafa didn't even think about hiding, believing that the Egyptian authorities would keep the incident hushed up and silent. On the morning of August 26, two other Russian tourists, Ilya and Igor, found Sabina in a critical condition, and they contacted the Russian consulate and made the Egyptians call for an ambulance. Ismailova eventually ended up in hospital with countless injuries. Her mother Elena Rykalina managed to fly to Egypt to be by her daughters side and look over her recovery. She later thanked the young Russian men for rescuing her daughter, and she also complained that they received virtually no help from the Russian consulate in Egypt. The plumber was eventually detained. And in 2014 Egypt admitted that a British tourist was raped in Egypt's South Sinai. The tourist was raped by security personnel who worked at the hotel where she was staying in Sharm al-Shaikh.
Other examples are a Dutch journalist who was raped by five men on Cairo's central Tahrir Square during political protests, as well as the American journalist Lara Logan. More on such raped can be read here. Not many cases make it out into the international media, but in 2014 a Russian tourist was raped in an Egyptian sea side tourist place. Police arrested a mini-bus driver, who had raped the tourist after pretending the vehicle had broken down, to trick her husband into getting out of the bus before speeding off with his intended victim. The incident took place in the Red Sea resort town of Sharm al-Sheikh, where the tourism ministry had previously shut down two hotels over alleged rapes (a British businesswoman was attacked by a hotel security guard at a top hotel in the Red Sea resort), as the government was said to "cracks down on an epidemic of sexual harassment and violence".
Meanwhile Egyptian lawyer Nabih al-Wahsh publicly stated that it's "a national duty to rape girls who wear revealing clothing like ripped jeans." - "I say that when a girl walks about like that, it is a patriotic duty to sexually harass her and a national duty to rape her." Here you can see the *** defending his statements.And in 2014 a German tourist alleged that an Egyptian police officer had raped her and her mother in the Red Sea resort of Hurghada. The officer was arrested but released when the tourist dropped her complaint, according to the state-run Ahram Online news site. We're still talking 2014 here; Two Swiss tourists were found murdered in - again - the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Hurghada. The Swiss couple had been reported missing for a week and had been found dead in a villa, buried in its garden in fact, with the building’s guard allegedly the prime suspect in the killing. In 2017 the Italian graduate student Giulio Regeni was gruesomely tortured and then killed in Egypt. Unsurprisingly, the event was first attempted to be sold as "a car accident' by the local police. "Why it's so dangerous: This country topped the Trip by Skyscanner list of dangerous places, and the U.S. Department of State has issued a stern warning to travelers about going to Egypt: "A number of terrorist groups, including ISIS, have committed multiple deadly attacks in Egypt, targeting government officials and security forces, public venues, tourist sites, civil aviation and other modes of public transportation, and a diplomatic facility." [..] It was noted that Egyptian men can be aggressive, especially in crowded markets. One user noted that her “female guide would not visit the markets...because the merchants would harass her mercilessly if (the tourists) didn't stop at their stalls.” It is key to respect local dress norms in Egypt and avoid attracting attention: Cover your shoulders and knees. Very loose clothing that covers your wrists, ankles — and even hair — is better. Be aware that eye contact can be considered flirting. Some travelers find it helpful to wear sunglasses. If you do use the metro, seek out women's carriages. Consider an Uber in favor of a taxi."
Luckily, the Lampart Detective Office ("leopard") set up an independent investigation into Magdalena's death, and concluded that she was most likely the victim of human (sex) trafficking, and murdered.
According to the Lampart office (one of the founders is Wojciech Majer, who has been linked to the central anti-terrorist police unit for 26 years), the Polish woman was the victim of an organized criminal network. Their statement read: "With the help of the information and materials obtained as a result of our work, we have been able to indicate precisely that:
- 72 people are directly and/or indirectly associated with participation
in an organized criminal group and the death of Magdalena
- 32 companies are linked to the criminal group's business structures
- There were people who took part in the unclear conditions of
Magdalena's death in one of the hospitals.
- There are specific websites which we identified with their server location,
from which girls orders are managed, also from Poland
- There is a graphical network of links between the criminal and personal
structures of a specific crime group. We also discovered links with the death
and disappearance of two other women."
Lampart discovered that the trade in beautiful women is organized. According to the Lampart group, escort girls were searched for in Poland and recruited through an Egyptian portal. "We have developed a business grid that supports the recruitment of women to rich entrepreneurs from around the world. Leads lead to Egypt" - one of the detectives said. Magdalena Żuk was also said to be the victim of human trafficking. The Lampart Detective Bureau determined that she was the victim of an organized criminal network that recruits young women in Poland and sends them abroad as 'companions'. "A specific 'order' is transferred from abroad to Poland, a woman is sought and a journey is organized. Funding for the 'service' is camouflaged via fictional companies whose investigators gave the names to the investigators." They linked this to a graphical network of connections between the group's personal and business structures and "links to the death and disappearance of two other women." The name, together with the location of the server from which the management of these orders for women takes place (including from Poland), gave the detectives a first lead for their investigation. The Lampart investigators identified 72 different people who are involved in these proceedings, and reported them all to the Central Police Investigation Office and the National Public Prosecutor's Office. "We believe that our guidelines and findings will help the public authorities to supplement their knowledge and lead to the detention of those responsible for this act" declared Lampart.
"In Magda's case, several events took place immediately after her arrival, causing the girl to be terrified, panicked and resigned because she didn't expect such a series of events. As a result of her panic, everything went in a completely different direction from what was planned by the criminal group", says Biuro Lampart Group SA. Magda was used from the very beginning and had been selected long before the journey itself, probably by people we selected as a result of certain intelligence.
"These people have had control and knowledge all the time of what Magda was really going to do in Egypt and where she was, what he did and with whom she met. Everything that happened later was the result of chaotic actions to prevent Magda from returning to her home country at any cost, causing the criminal group to make a lot of mistakes, quickly preparing an alibi in a thoughtless, panicked and desperate way. These mistakes allowed us to try to reconstruct the connections that resulted from the mass activities of an international criminal organization under the control of Poland and several foreigners operating from at least three independent cities in Poland" concludes the Lampart office. The office states that it cannot give further details or names at this stage. There are Polish women known to the public prosecutors who also traveled to Egypt and who reported similar experiences. Their behavior was similar to that of Magdalena Żuk. There are suspicions that they all suffered from the effects of drugs; rape pills for example. Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska declared that three such women are ready to testify of this. Female trafficking is one of the hypotheses of the public prosecutor's investigation into the death of Magdalena Żuk, as well as drugs, a nervous breakdown and suicide. "None of the versions are dominant" - said Marek Gołębiowski, Head of Prosecutor's Office in Jelenia Góra. The public prosecution accepted the evidence gathered by the Lampart group for their own investigation. Findings that Magdalena Żuk was the victim of trafficking were also included in the investigation. The Public Prosecutor's Office takes the information gathered in a private investigation by a detection company from Warsaw seriously, they said on May 18th, 2017. And yet... the public prosecution has publicly ruled out that rape or a crime took place... In October 2017 they officially declared that no foul play was discovered. They insist that Magdalena killed herself and that nobody else was involved in her death. It's all very strange, considering the intelligence they were handed, and the autopsy and toxicology results as well as all the other file info that has been kept from them by Egypt so far... You'd almost wonder whether or not they have been bribed and are trying to protect some people in high places perhaps?
The problem with the human trafficking theory, nevertheless: why would Mahmoud and Co even bring Magda to the airport? Or the hospital? Wouldn't you keep a girl you drugged and abused away from places like that if you intended to cause her harm/traffic her etc.? Unless she was made too afraid to talk. Or was blackmailed in some way. Or other people were bribed, such as hospital and airport staff.. Which seems a far fetched scenario, but technically not impossible. You'd also think that they probably wouldn't want to be caught on hospital video recordings either then, as their victims 'handlers'. Of course, they may have worked for someone much higher up in the hierarchy. A rich millionaire or kingpin like Captain Khaled for instance, who would be pretty much immune everywhere in the Red Sea area. It's also possible that Magdalena was given very strong drugs, covering for her psychotic behaviour. I think having been gang raped on a boat and drugged and abused and hit for some days in a row, that can make a woman go pretty hysterical. And then the presence of anti-psychotic drugs in her blood could be a blessing for whomever did this to her. Then bring her to the hospital to appear all helpful and get a confirmation that she is having a "psychotic episode". Now it's documented she indeed is not in a right state of mind. Please go ahead, making hospital videos of her acting all insane. She may have been drugged to such an extend that not even phone calls with the people at home were a further risk for the criminals involved. I personally am not buying the prosecutors leak to the media that Magdalena did not appear to have been raped in the autopsy. Because the Egyptian results have not been sent to Poland (and they may not be reliable anyway, despite two Polish officials having been present), and the Polish could not conduct a reliable autopsy themselves due to the Egyptians having ruined the body with bleaching chemicals. - Magdalena's sister Anna was criticized in Poland for her refusal to cooperate with the Lampart Group detectives, which have a good reputation for unearthing the truth in cases like these.
The Lampart group have openly complained about the unwillingness of Magdalena's sister Anna (and indirectly of Magda's parents, but the group believe it was Anna who blocked all contact with them). Strange, because Anna seems to be dead set on finding out the truth. So why not cooperate with the Lampart Group, who seem the most independent and trustworthy player in this whole investigation.... Links were in fact found between the same people who participated in multiple cases of premature deaths of young Polish women. The Lampart Group wanted to investigate these links but.. "We started to analyse these relationships. and at some point we could not go further. Because in order to obtain the necessary first hand information, we needed the solicitation of the father of Magdalena Zuk to initiate contact with the Magdalena family on the case. However, the contact was taken over by Magda's sister Anna Cieślińska, who quickly became a celebrity after countless commercial interviews she gave with on radio and television. She refused to allow us to contact the father of the family for a situation which was not more specific.. As a result of this, the materials that we had collected had to be submitted to the prosecutor's office and to several other places, instead of being supplemented in part by the Egyptian state of affairs. There were suggestions to hear the circumstances of the knowledge we possessed in the area which was relevant here. Already at that time he clearly pointed out that we were dealing with a crime. Magdalena Zuk did not commit suicide. Recently, after more than a year and a half, Anna nowadays thinks and states however that we are dealing with a criminal case here. Expressing indignation, during this time we have contacted her several times and we have undertaken a thorough and detailed conversation, however, each time she refused to cooperate. For unexplained reasons. Throughout this time, the Attorney General (prosecutor) assured the positive cooperation with Egypt, which is extended until June 30, 2019. It turns out that Egypt is still unwilling to help Polish investigators. The prosecutor's office has made Magda's death into a media circus in which they state that it was a case of mental illness. Now admit the error in the media.
The files clearly show that we are dealing with a crime. The prosecution has forbidden the family to say anything in public about the case, which we think is outrageous. The more that Lampard Group investigators talked about it a year and a half ago, the more it has become clear that behind the scenes, this death is a game. And the family. The family, if they wanted to wait for two years to look into the file and see that their daughter Magda was a crime victim, the family finally lived to see."
Lampard Group about their investigation and about the family of Magda now agreeing with the conviction that she died due to a crime: "At the moment, we are not surprised at all that it turns out that we were right a year and a half ago already. We knew that we had a crime case after the first two months of analysis, and that was passive and not straightforward. We could have gone much further, we had enough solid and concrete information, but no one expected a categorical refusal to cooperate on the part of a person who was in the family court at the time, preventing us from contacting Magdalena's parents.. Despite the fact that we wanted to work and act completely out(side) of the media. The truth is also that for a long time we have been fully legally empowered to continue with our investigation activities into this matter, and that we were going freely beyond the threads that only relate to the connection of this case with the tragic death of others [such as Karolina Kaczorowska]. The truth is that it's magical that we respect the family's opinion. This is only a cover-up for situations which we would like to tell more about, but we cannot afford to disclose other material that could put this or that other case into jeopardy. We've made our good start, we've analyzed things, we've discovered the ends of this story and you won't learn about the backstage and cults of this ending just from us. It doesn't matter to us who writes the truth down in the end. Often we hear on the radio or television about some of the investigative successes in poorer cases that take place under the umbrella of investigators who are having no idea who is really behind these successes. Well, just think about how it would sound on public television. At the moment, we are waiting for the final decision of the prosecutor's office on this matter, which is planned to be released in June 2019 [currently it has been delayed again, till the end of 2019], and depending on that outcome we are planning to use our active authorization and launch further actions in this case."
Tadeas wrote me and gave the full statement from the Lampart Group regarding the case of Magdalena.
LAMPART GROUP: "We would like to thank everyone from whom we have received a huge amount of invaluable information that is extremely helpful. Selected part of them, together with key and complementary with our information obtained thanks to internal intelligence and our staff for crisis operations, we forwarded to the internal Anti-terrorism Section for final verification and then execution leading to the collective detention of persons selected by us for further interrogations in turn to charge them with participation in an international criminal organization. According to our precise findings, it all began when Magda was lured by a man whose task was to bring about a strong emotional bond between them. When this happened within a few months, she received a proposal from him and people in the immediate circle of mutual friends. However, she could not tell the truth to her parents, because she was persuaded by persons in close social contact with her to voluntarily travel to Egypt by virtue of the promise of making big money as a so-called "escort girl". The phenomenon is frequent, and such trips are organized massively by various intermediary agencies (operating under the cover of modeling agencies and hostesses), where very many girls travel massively to Arab countries and Japan and other countries (depending on where they stay, , ordered ') providing' escort girls' services. Those who have some fears are additionally promised that their services do not have an erotic background and will not be used sexually, only later unintentionally it acquires these colors when girls can no longer withdraw because they are blackmailed with materials collected during the provision of their services , or are given to them highly addictive drugs, where over time the threat of refusal to give them makes them absolutely obedient. It is also probable that sometimes a criminal group performs various types of macabre crimes in front of other friends to show them that it will be the same with them if they cause trouble. In Magda's case, immediately after her arrival, various events took place, as a result of which the girl was terrified, panicked and wanted to withdraw, because she did not expect such a turn of events. As a result of her panic, everything happened in a completely different way than planned in a template by a criminal group. Magda was piloted from the very beginning and all the time - long before the trip itself, most likely by people selected by us as a result of the intelligence investigation. These people have all the time had control and knowledge of what Magda really is going to Egypt for and where he is, what he does and who he meets. Everything that happened later was, however, the result of chaotic actions to prevent Magda from returning to the country at all costs, as a result of which the criminal group made many mistakes, quickly preparing the alibi in a thoughtless, careless and desperate way. These errors allowed us to attempt to reconstruct the connections resulting from the massive activities of an international criminal organization controlled by Poles and several foreigners operating from a minimum of 3 independent cities in Poland. At this stage, we cannot provide more details or names, but we ensure that we do everything to ensure that the perpetrators are accurately located, and then arrested and handed over, along with evidence to state apparatus." Magda's sister Anna Cieślinska and her father went to Egypt early 2019, in the hope of finding more answers. They brought journalists along
They have been waiting for more than two years now for the outcome of the investigation. Through a local lawyer, they tried to reach the local authorities and obtain at least some copies of documents. But they failed. They were left stunned in fact in Egypt. According to Egyptian rules, the nearest male relative, i.e. her father, can have access to the public prosecutor's files relating to the death of Magdalena Żuk. Just a few weeks before their trip, the family contacted an Egyptian lawyer who promised them arranged access to the file. On the fourth day of their stay in Egypt, Anna and Tadeusz Żuk went from Marsa Alam to Hurghada, which is almost 300 kilometers away. They hoped they would get copies of the files on Magdalena's death. This was the thing they came for. But when this lawyer met Magdalena's father, he gave him a a very strange offer: he said that if his father admitted on paper that Magda had killed herself, he would be handed the documents that everyone is after in Poland quickly - recalled Anna Cieślinska. He refused. Because Magdalena's family is convinced that Magda didn't kill herself. They also are certain that she wasn't mentally ill. And if her father had signed the documents and agreed on suicide, then from the Egyptian side, the investigation would be rounded up and finished. Anna recalls about this event: "We met an Egyptian lawyer at a cafe next to a Hurghada court. The meeting lasted a few hours, but soon it became apparent that the investigation files had been sent to the public prosecutor's office in Cairo and, according to the lawyer, the family had no access to them. Instead of receiving files, we received shocking information. According to the lawyer, the only way for us to get access to those case files, is for Magdalena Żuk's father to state that his daughter has committed suicide. Then the procedure would be terminated immediately, and the family would receive copies of the file. The lawyer claimed that only then we could have access to them." Anna and her father didn't expect to hear this and were shocked. Anna was sad about it too. "We won't say that she did this to herself, because we know that a lot of people contributed to her death. This is indicated by the recordings. And it is documented in the Egyptian report, which we cannot talk about."
If Tadeusz Żuk had signed a document stating that his daughter had committed suicide, he would automatically have received the full file. At the same time, this would mean that the case was closed once and for all by the Egyptian authorities. This family did not agree. As they say vigorously — they want the truth, and that's all they're interested in.
And Tadeusz Żuk said about it all: "Although I'm her father, everything here is an uphill struggle. It's hard to get something done. There are different realities here than in Europe. This is a very different way of life, only money counts. There is corruption, without which some things cannot be regulated. I can get all the documents when I say that Magda committed suicide. I do not accept this scheme. It would be like cheating my family, especially my daughter. If I did such a thing, the whole family would turn away from me." But the family does like to know more about these traces of the drugs found in Magda's blood. Can they explain her strange behavior? Was one of the doctors of the hospital in Marsa Alam, Tarek Ahmed, correct when he predicted in a statement on TV that "a new medication, called flakka, may have been given to Magdalena? Forensic and toxicological experts have not yet answered this question. Nor have they revealed the exact name of the drug that was found.
But it was found that Magdalena was under the influenced of the drug Khat, which causes amphetamine-like effects and symptoms like psychomotor hyperactivity.
Meanwhile, the head of the Red Sea Hospital in Hurghada, Dr. Mohamed Samy Gomaa, continues to insist that according to reports from hospital staff in Port Ghalib, Magda wanted to kill herself and jumped out of the window. She was supposed to be aggressive towards workers and in order to calm her down, medication was given to her. At this point, we don't know exactly what exact medication they gave her then, and if it may have triggered her to suicide. The family of Magdalena believe that she was drugged. When the sister and father were in Egypt, the hotel manager of the Three Corners Equinox Resort Beach Hotel, where Magda stayed, agreed to talk to her. He said: "I've worked for 31 years in the hotel industry, and this was the first time that I saw such a thing. For example, she ran and fell herself. She did it on purpose. They called me on five, and they said she wanted to jump off the slope. I told the staff to not leave her alone, no matter where she went, and to treat her like a child. In the hotel lobby, she appeared in her underwear, she pulled off her jeans. Maybe she went mad because she was here alone." "Or maybe she used drugs?" - "Maybe. I don't know", he answered. "Here in this country it's very hard to get drugs. When someone smoked hashish cigarettes, I had to notify the police. If I don't notify the police and the police catch someone outside and ask them from which hotel they're coming, I'm going to go to jail first. We have strict rules here. Even if someone goes outside the hotel, we write their passport data in the book. A policeman comes in daily and checks it out. If someone is late they check right away which driver took them, and where did he go. I have to report this to the police. I'm 100 percent sure she took some medication before she arrived here."
The hospital manager of the Port Ghalib hospital also agreed to an interview. He was the one who made the hospital video monitoring recordings public. "It's the recording they hold her on because she tried to jump out of the window. People held her so she wouldn't jump out, they wanted to save her." The hospital manager checked whether Magdalena Żuk's research archives were in the archive, which were not kept by the Egyptian prosecutor's office. He found CT photographs taken just after she fell out the window; photographs that Anna and her father had not yet seen before. When asked about drug testing, the manager replied that such tests had not been carried out in his hospital. "Sometimes a doctor orders such tests, but here we saw that there was something wrong with her mind. She behaved normally and changed within two seconds. If you are looking for answers, do not look for reasons in the hospital. You have to find out what happened to her before she came here. She came to us. I would like you to say that the source of her problem lies in Poland, and not with us. We have nothing to hide." The resident [Mahmoud], who had to look after Magdalena Żuk during her stay in Egypt, proved to be elusive. Anna and her father could not get a hold of him. The hotel staff claimed that he had changed jobs and telephone numbers. Can Mahmoud perhaps explain the mystery of why and what drugs were found in Magdalene Żuk's blood? "I'm sure she was given something." She would not consciously use drugs because she was highly against the use of drugs. Someone wanted to abuse her" - says Magdalena's sister. Markus also said she Magdalena hadn't used drugs and that he had never seen her like that before. When Anna and her father stayed in the same hotel as where Magdalena was, the Three Corners Equinox Resort Beach Hotel, they were told that one of them would be given the exact room where Magdalena stayed. But upon inspection, neither of them had been given the same room, Anna found out. And in the hospital where Magda fell out of the window, Anna said she wanted to light a candle. From the beginning, she and her father were told that Madzia fell on the stairs below the window. The nurse was supposed to lead them to this place, but she showed Anna and her father a very different place — it was more than two meters away from the stairs. Contradicting the official version of events by Egyptian officials. In the nurses opinion, Magda had been laying below the wall, with her head under the airconditioning unit. When Dad asked her how exactly she was lying, she couldn't, according to Anna Cieślińska. According to family assessments, this new information about the place where Magdalena was found laying, may indicate that the girl was pushed out of the window. Anna now warns everyone who thinks about going to Egypt: "You never know what can happen. When tragedy strikes, no one will help you find out the truth or explain the reasons. For them, we're just cash cows and they do what they want."
Dr Krzysztof Rutkowski
The office of Krzysztof Rutkowski carried out an investigation into the death of Magdalena Żuk, independent of the Polish and Egyptian public prosecutor. He was asked to do this by Magdalena's family, but they quickly fell out with each other and after mere months the family already withdrew all cooperation with Rutkowski. He is also frequently mocked and seriously hated by many Poles. What happened here? - Krzysztof Rutkowski is hated because he has changed his statements about magda's death over time, and went from one side of the spectrum to the other. There is a widespread believe that he is covering something up and basks in the attention which such high profile media cases give him. Rutkowski went initially full force ahead and sent several employees to Egypt at the start of his investigating. The detective also managed to get new information by interviewing Dr. Ahmed Shawke in Marsa Alam, who witnessed events with Magdalena Żuk. He gave the girl medication and tied her to the bed. His report shows that she behaved very aggressively - hence these practices. Rutkowski also revealed during a press conference that she had such extensive internal wounds, that are hard to match with a fall from only two storeys high, considering Magdalena was not only young but also athletic. He initially thought that she was beaten and viciously raped. He helped to raise new questions: did Magdalena try to kill herself? Or did she only try to get away and flee from something? Or was she perhaps pushed out the window by somebody else? Was she having a psychotic episode or was she drugged? Did someone do something to her, was she abused, or were people merely trying to control her erratic behaviour and keep her safe? Detective Krzysztof
Rutkowski also initially revealed in an interview with Radio Zet that the found out that the direct cause of her death was something very specific: suffocation caused by embolism in the lungs. "The medical rapport shows that the direct cause of her death was suffocation, and that she had kidney obstruction and a collapsed lung; as if she had been beaten." Rutkowski added: "Magda was placed in a hospital room on the first floor, with grass directly under the window. She was a fit, young, healthy woman and such a fall could certainly not be fatal." In an interview with Wirtualna Polska, the detective repeated his belief that the girl could have been beaten earlier. The detective emphasizes that he would also carefully examine the original film made by the resident Mahmoud. He emphasized that the Arab voices in the background are mainly spouting blasphemous insults. He also believed that Magdalena's gestures - made in the video recording - indicate that she has been raped. He believes the recording was made to provide some sort of alibi for Mahmoud but also Markus. The detective also confirmed that Magda called her boyfriend Markus in a distressed state around 03:00, which was already 2 hours after checking into the hotel, because she heard strange noises/voices in her room. And another worrying detail revealed initially by Krzysztof Rutkowski: Mahmoud the resident had injuries to his face and hands, "as if he had had a beating". Mahmoud claimed that Magda was aggressive directly caused these injuries. The detective also revealed also that he received a lot of information from Polish (but also German) women who behaved very similar to Magdalena after having a few drinks in similar Egyptian holiday resorts. They were talking about dizziness, photophobia (extreme sensitivity to light), squatting on the floor. According to the detective, identical symptoms can be seen with Magdalena on the hotel camera video. "Magda's behavior was standard, and similar to that of women who contacted me. This tablet, which is administered in Egypt, is passed on to the drink. In Egypt, there are so-called "systems" among local residents who provide each other with information about the arrival of an attractive, lonely girl to the hotel" - Rutkowski said. This information network between hotel residents is very widespread.
MahmoudAnd the detective went further than that; he appealed to Polish women who had in the past been into contact with Egyptian 'resident' Mahmoud to come forward. After publishing his request on a social networking site, many negative reports about the resident appeared in the comment section. One woman wrote: "I know him/his type. I was on vacation in Marsa alam a year ago with my friend and his family. In the afternoon I went alone to the resort, where Wi-Fi was only available to make connect with my loved ones. When I sat at the table, he [Mahmoud] came to me, speaking to me in Polish and pretending to be polite. And he asked me a lot about my whereabouts and who I was with. It struck me instantly how overly nice he tried to be, and I stopped chatting with my family soon after and went back to my room. Later he found my profile on Facebook, and when I did not accept his friend request, I received a message from him with my photos, taken on the day I met him and sat at the same table as him in Egypt. I became afraid and blocked him after I received these messages."
Another Polish woman wrote about Mahmoud: "One evening my husband felt sick and stayed in our hotel room after dinner. I went to the bar where we already knew all the bartenders. Especially one was "our friend and guide" in the old town. And that evening, after maybe a second drink I suddenly felt very bad: I felt that I would faint. Because I am a strong person, I decided that I would go to the toilet so that I would not fall at the bar. He followed me and when he couldn't find me, he called out where I was. I tell him I suddenly felt weak and that I was in the toilet, but that I had no strength to leave. He came for me and I asked him to bring me back to my room. I can't be sure whether or not they added intoxicants to my drinks, but I can assume that the bartenders had a plan." After the media storm surrounding Magdalena's death died down in Poland, Rutkowski's office continued to receive phone calls from women describing the effects of spiked drinks when they were in Egypt. Unfortunately this happens very often, Rutkowski concluded. And unfortunately, these are often the ways to make contact between local Egyptian men and attractive foreign women - he said. According to Rutkowski, there may also be many networks in Egypt that provide information about solitary women entering the country and later become victims of taharrush jamai or even rape.
What did Rutkowski initially conclude?"Information on the death of Magdalena Żuk, which I passed on to the police on May 12th 2017, coincides fully with expert statements. This includes statements from a doctor, a criminal and head of the La Strada Foundation, which we discussed in the TVN Note program and on TV. The cause of Magda's death may be an unexpected disturbance to the possible simultaneous use of narcotics that caused the girl's terrible condition", wrote Krzysztof Rutkowski on Facebook. Detective Krzysztof Rutkowski also revealed that after the Egyptians finished their first autopsy on Magdalena's body and when it was time for the Polish investigators to do their own autopsy and second opinion... Magdalena's body was delivered to them chemically treated and embalmed. For the embalming process, which they did on their own account and without Polish permission, blood and all liquids were removed. So tests - even toxicological - that Polish investigators wanted to carry out, are not reliable anymore. Some say this was done on purpose, to cover up discriminating evidence. Detective Krzysztof Rutkowski stated this explicitly. He is convinced that the embalming was done very much on purpose to erase important evidence. Note that Magdalena's body was going to Polish investigators after the Egyptians first did an autopsy. Making their own (Egyptian) first findings the only reliable ones, factually. Due to the way in which they treated her body, this second autopsy was made more difficult and the outcomes were flawed and incomplete. Krzysztof Rutkowski also told media outlet Wirtualna Polska that he believed that said chemical treatment had erased any traces of possible sexual assault or rape.
And what was Rutkowski's sudden final conclusion?
Krzysztof Rutkowski ended his investigation by doing a sudden u-turn and by finally concluding that the reason for Magdalena's death was in his opinion a psychological disturbance and suicide. "It was suicide. Without the participation of third parties". That is what Rutkowski Bureau reported to a Polish investigator as the causes of death of the 27-year-old Polish Magdalena in Egypt. She died as the result of injuries caused by a fall from a height, which was a suicide attempt. The investigators' findings show that the Polish woman had previously attempted suicide - a jump from the roof of a hotel in Marsa Alam. The written information given to the police does not mention what would lead Magdalena Żuk to take her own life. However, Rutkowski announced that he had completed his investigation into the death of Magdalena Żuk with this. - Magdalena Żuk's family were furious and said that they would never agree with or accept this statement and that they would wait for the public prosecutor's findings. What makes this conclusion by Rutkowski extra strange, is that he said the polar opposite in May 2017: "The Egyptian police assumed that the cause of death was a mental illness. We do not agree with this version. People from her direct surroundings emphasize that the girl has never given any signs or signals that she could be affected in any way by such a mental illness" - Rutkowski said back then. As a result of this 180 degree turn, Magdalena's family cut off all cooperation with Rutkowski. He is later saying to the press: "I no longer have any contact with them. The cooperation with them is very poorly." And Rutkowski's wife/partner also got some very bad press for involving herself in his investigation, and having herself photographed casually in front of the window where Magda fell from.
"We have bad experiences with this man. He did nothing but kiss [the asses of those pushing the suicide scenario]. He just deceived us by saying that he already had and knew everything, and eventually he came to us with nothing. We don't even know what was agreed upon in Egypt, because he didn't show us, and suddenly we looked at the Scandals program and we heard that he concluded that Magda was mentally ill. It was a u-turn and my mother couldn't stand it and said to end all cooperation with him right away. We received him as a family. He sat with us at our table, talked and discussed different theories, and suddenly he changed his mind and said Magda was ill" - said Cieślińska. "We would like this case to be over and to finally be told the truth. Unfortunately, we know that we're moving further and further away from the truth" - the sister of Magda ended.
Some comments from the public on Rutkowski's workHe is accused of being merely a 'pseudo-detective' and eager for media attention; "Why did Rutkowski go past the fact that supposedly 'mentally ill' Magdalena also lost the free access to her own mobile phone to contact loved ones?" People traveling on the same plane as her said that she was behaving completely normal during the flight. Until the moment she arrived in the hotel in Marsa Alam. Shameful that Rutkowski and Rainbow Travel agency and Egyptian authorities are now saying she had sudden mental problems; She was terrified during that farce video call with Markus; she was given no opportunity whatsoever to have her own private conversation with him. She looks like a frightened animal while her 'guardian' holds his phone 2 meters away, in front of her. How can you believe that she tells the truth there, when clearly so threatened? This journalistic hype surrounding Magda's death reminds of the same media hysterics after the death of Ewa Tylman. It is just political fuel. And your journalistic portal is disappointing, despite all the loud announcements in advance and the high expectations." "The girl was killed like an animal. And now you and your colleagues are forging the version of events that she had a 'mental illness'? She had no mental problems before going to this shithole." "This smells like a cover-up, ranging from Poznań until Wrocław and then from Wrocklaw to Marsa Alam!! It is clear for all to see that her man Markus Włodarski, the only (!) facebook friend from Maciej Solaczak (who in turn has strange poems online about torturing girls and murdering virgins and has ties to drugs circles). And they all have ties to resident Mahmoud Khairy. Maciej Solczak was with his friends, because Mahmoud Khairy hadn't been with hís friends for several days already." "Strange eh, that all his photos and other posts have suddenly disappeared from their social media profiles. But there is a known chain of connection between Markus Włodarski, Maciej Solczak and Mahmoud, and we all know that they all know each other. Maciej, with the one facebook friend, would fly to Egypt to safe Magda? My ass! They should have contacted Foreign Affairs, prosecutors, police but no, Solczak alone flew to Egypt. And he was the one pushing for the recording of Magda talking to Markus because it was supposed to be used as an alibi. Reality is that they owed someone money for drugs and goods, and they paid the bill with Human Goods." "Mahmoud the resident speaks Polish, probably English too; he graduated from a Military School according to his social media info. But Egypt is a poor country, so he made some extra dough with corruption and human sex trafficking for the local mafia. The "M" of which Magda spoke was clearly Mahmoud and the fact that defensive wounds were found on his hands and face says enough as well. Magda fought until the end." "The noose is slowly but surely tightening around Markus' neck; the son of Artur Włodarski, the journalist from Gazeta Wyborcza, the hair dresser of Rafał Dutkiewicz' wife, and his colleague dealers who were involved in Magda's death. Markus and Maciek are known figures in Wroclaw and known by drugs dealers; they are also always associated with models. And what are the chances that the same corrupt liars from Jelenia Góra are handling (butchering) this case as the poorly handled case of Karolina Kaczorowska? The specialist in the blurring of traces is of course the famous detective Krzysztof Rutkowski who transformed himself for years as a leech into a businessman. Rutkowski knew both ends - he eagerly admitted to entering the vortex. Rutek greetings from June - with him he took the first successful steps in the purchase of luxury limousines, but that was not enough. The question of this entire thing is if Marcus ('do you trust me') pushing her if she has confidence in him, which is then followed by a long moment of reflection, maybe indicates that Magda did not fully trust him. However, he presses her (to say this key phrase) YES I TRUST YOU. Is he pushing her to say this because it gives him proof that he has nothing to do with the matter?"

Why did Markus record this conversation? Markus explained to TVN reporter Robert Jałosze that he had received so much disturbing information at that point about Magdalena, that he had asked his friend to record the conversation with a second mobile phone. Marcus also stated about this that it was a conversation registered just for himself and for this boss and that it was her initiative. The boss, however, first denies that she was a passive participant in this conversation, which would have been prepared for her, and she states that the link to the recording only got updated later. The boss said about this: "From the beginning, the only thing that was really important, was to say about the recording that it wasn't like the recording was made for me and that I received it." But one of the informants of the Lampart Investigation group (who did a lot of research into this case) is telling the unambiguous story and conveyed explicit knowledge that the boss was a participant in recording this conversation, which was being recorded on an iPhone 5s and stored on a computer. A friend of Markus who recorded these call conversations, send a file from his computer; a file that was previously edited on the phone and that was not closed properly and correctly. This means that this file can't be reproduced or played in a normal environment, but it(s name) has been successfully written. The Lampart group believes that this undoubtedly and indisputably proves that the full and true course of this conversation is not publicly known. Markus' friend then sends him this file by email. Only its average version was published in the media. Meaning we may not have the full recording available, and neither everything that Magdalena may have said during the conversation. And the boss more or less confirms in text that she is involved (texts are included in the video, here). In theory, the Lampart detectives believe that the recording of this conversation between Magdalena and Markus is intended to immortalize proof that someone did Magda harm. In practice, it is considered a perfect alibi for Markus. Markus' colleague Michal recorded the video of Markus talking with Magdalena. He told a reporter from the media that it was his idea in fact to start recording the conversation, due to Magdalena making some "comments" that made them think it was better to record the conversation.. "Her behavior forced our subconscious to record it. This is not a conversation that has been recorded right from the beginning" - he says. Markus explained that the recording was "accidentally made public". He also said that he was planning to marry Magda in the United States in October of 2017. Magdalena's boyfriend also explained why he stayed so calm during the recorded conversation with Magda. He said that he had to stay calm, in order to try to calm down Magda. "Did you see in which state Magda was? If I screamed and got upset, would it have helped her? No. I had to stay calm" - he confessed. Markus also said she Magdalena hadn't used drugs and that he had never seen her like that before. But why is Markus making and recording this long phone call? Which is said to have been originally longer than the 13-something minute video that has come out, according to the Lampart group detectives. So which parts have been left out? And why did Markus repeat the same questions over and over, without doing anything? Could he have taken more action after it? And what does this recording really serve? Is it meant to be an alibi for the person who recorded it? There are also so many strange things happening on that recording. Magda seems so nervous, yet not.. insane? She seems calculated and thus conscious of some things; for instance that she cannot talk freely in Polish, as Mahmoud speaks Polish and watches her. So she has to choose her words very carefully seemingly. She also seems to communicate a few times with gestures, just like the letter "M". Unfortunately, none of that leads to straight forward information... Magda repeats several times that she cannot talk. And yet Markus, like a parrot, repeats the same questions again and again. I made the subtitles for it and I honestly must have written down "Just tell me" many dozens of times.
Why does Markus continue to ask the same questions about what happened, when it is clear after 10+ minutes that she cannot answer this question? Why doesn't he ask much more specific questions such as "Were you raped?", that she can nod about? Or blink? Or anything else that may go unnoticed to her 'guards'? Did Markus even want her to provide further details?
Or was he only interested in providing an alibi for himself, like some journalists and investigators have suggested. Markus himself has defended his own actions, saying that he just wanted to calm her down, hence the constant repeating of the same questions and the sweet words like 'honey' and 'little mouse'. But all his sweet talking is leading nowhere with her. You can even see him sip from his beer at some point... C'mon. That video unnerved me and I found it very uncomfortable to watch. And when Markus asks Magdalena if she trusts him, she hesitates on camera... She waits a few seconds. Her body language seems to spell the opposite to what her mouth then says: "yes". The call also gets interrupted at some point by another incoming call. Its from Kamil, also named Zloty, who happens to be the ex boyfriend of another girl who died in mysterious circumstances; a model Karolina Kaczorowska. I am translating and adding a video about her death below asap. But this Zloty is implicated with a possible murder. And coincidentally he is a colleague and friend of our Markus. In Polish comment sections it is a recurrent thing to read that Markus was not just a hairdresser, but also said to be homosexual. Which makes his claims about an upcoming wedding with Magdalena... surprising. Could this be another clue that Markus had very different ties to Magdalena? And could this Zloty be in the same industry with beautiful and 'bankable' Polish women? All these people are associated with one club in Wroclaw, known for drugs, prostitution and with very influential visitors (politicians, wealthy young people, Muslims; Poland does not have many Muslim inhabitants but for some reason they are said to be centered in this club). Magda's furniture went for sale according to gossip after she left to Egypt, but before she made this call. Magda's sister has stated that "During recording, Michał Rostkowski whispered to Marcus: "Don't take it from her because they'll come." I asked him about this. The point was that the resident [Mahmoud] spoke Polish and understood everything - explains Anna Cieślińska. And how come this video recording was said by Michal to have been recorded on purpose due to the strange nature of it, yet been made public... "by accident"? As Markus admitted? What balderdash is that, in this day and age? The video has been on social media for years.
Some Internet users say that Markus W., born in Germany, is the son of a journalist from Gazeta Wyborcza. Markus is supposed to be a hairdresser, reportedly known in Wrocław, who together with his friends Maciej S., Michał R. and Kamil P (Zloty). is connected to the suspect music club "Gray" in Wrocław. Markus did one interview, in which he said he was innocent and would sue anyone who spreads lies about him. Other than that, he has been laying low. - It seems clear to me that she is afraid to speak because of whomever is holding the phone and standing near her. She seems to agonize over the decision to speak the entire time. Wringing her hand and pacing and clutching her head. She seems to want to tell Markus something, but is too afraid. She whispers several times, trying to tell something, but he keeps talking over her with his loud repetitive pleading. And just after she says M the tour guy takes over, hissing to her in the background a reprimand about having agreed that she would only discuss the hospital. It just sent a chill down my spine when she said that she was never going to leave that place. How frightened she must have been. And why didn't she reach out to other people at the airport? Mahmoud seemed to have an immense power over her. Did she jump voluntarily to escape him and his evil plans for her? Magdalena even seemed to feel threatened by the hospital staff. The fact they they tied her to a bed with towels must not have helped there. And again these Mahmoud and his cronies are all over here, even in the hospital. One of them makes strange body angles to block one of the camera's in the hospital's hallway.. Its clear that she was frightened, but was it warranted, or was it perceived danger? I suspect the first. Markus is also said to have been the private barber of the wife from Wroclaw mayor, and his sister is a beautician working for TV stations. He is said in the Polish media to be friends with a successful lawyer, who happens to run one of Polish Senators offices and a business with the senator's daughter. Markus never uses these connections when Magda is in dire trouble, but he does appeal to them after her death, when he himself has his name dragged through the mud in Poland. Magda moved to Wroclaw not all that long before her death (same say mere months before) and this is where she met Markus. Wroclaw has a bad reputation in some ways, and has been named as a center for mafia and powerful people in Polish business, media and politics. The Red Sea coast of Egypt, where Magda was staying, has a harbour where rich Russians and Arabs like to sail to, looking for entertainment and prostitution. Beautiful Eastern Europe women are especially popular with them. Rumour goes that Markus is in fact gay and has access through his connections with up and coming celebrities and models. Magdalena is said to have been sweet and naive, wanting the good life. As some evil tongues say, Markus convinced her to do 'something' in Egypt for money (pole dancing / escorting / drug trade; something along those lines) and he would travel with her. But he backed out at the last minute, forcing her to travel alone. And that is why Magdalena was seen crying at the airport and in the plane to Egypt. She may have had a foreboding what she had gotten herself into, with Markus sneaking out of their arrangement and having her go to the gates of hell alone. And with all that in mind, the strange ways in which Markus talks to Magdalena in that video call, seems all the more chilling. Do we see a concerned frantic boyfriend here? Or a a lover boy who acts more like a recruiter? I don't know... You can make your own mind up based on the videos and the information available. Bit it is certain that this case is not an isolated case. Like in mostly every country, Poland also has a nightclub scene of with organized crime, prostitution and drugs, which operates in its own bubble and which is simply out of reach for local authorities. On top of that, the international mafia is everywhere in these days of globalization. And Polish women have gone missing or ended up dead under strange circumstances before. Only a couple of examples of this are the cases of Iwona Cygan, Iwona Wieczorek, Ewa Tylman and Karolina Kaczorowska. But Magdalena's sister defends Markus and says that he and her sister were genuinely planning to marry each other. She and her family do not believe that he had anything to do with Magda's death and Anna also emphasizes that Markus has kept in contact with them, and is completely destroyed by what happened. She does not believe that he has pretended and acted this. She made this statement however in June 2017, so only months after Magda's death...
Link with the Elisa Lam case and the death of Karolina KaczorowskaSome people compare these cases. The difference is that in Elisa Lambs case, there was an independently established history of mental illness. This was not the case with Magdalena Żuk.. All her relatives and loved ones unanimously state the same: Magdalena had no history whatsoever of psychiatric problems. Neither with depression or anxiety. So saying that she 'just got crazy', so soon after landing on her holiday destination and without any history of mental disorders or psychoses... may be too easy a shot. If anything, Magdalena looked more like she had been drugged, something which she also stated to her family according to some sources. There are also addition circumstances here where Magda seemed specifically petrified of the men who were with her. She was almost too anxious to talk freely with Markus, and going by the raunchy derogatory stuff these (at least) two Egyptians were saying in the background of the video about Markus, she may have had reasons to be petrified. Mahmoud spoke Polish, so she had no way of privately talking to Markus; someone was holding the phone from Mahmoud in front of her and Mahmoud himself was nearby, overhearing everything (and commenting on it at times). In the hospital on Saturday the 29th, she seems not so much in a state of blind psychosis; she seems to specifically attack the two men who are trying to hold her down; men without doctors clothing, very possibly being Mahmoud and his pal. Did Magdalena perhaps get drugged upon arrival? And/or was she sexually assaulted and acutely traumatized by that experience perhaps? Karolina Kaczorowska is another story though. The suicide of Karolina Kaczorowska was the most notable death of the Polish model in recent years. But the facts that the Lampart group detectives uncovered show that what the prosecution called a 'suicide', wasn't actually a suicide. And there are worrisome traces and connections found, which show that this models death is linked to the death of Magdalena Zuk. Model Karolina Kaczorowska went to Karpacz (south western part of Poland, close to the border with Czechia) with friends on January 15th, 2016 to celebrate her 30th birthday the next day. She made good money with international modeling, had her own apartment in London and was able to pay for overnight hotel stays for everyone she invited for her birthday bash. After the party on Friday, January 16th, Karolina decided to stay at a hotel for the rest of the weekend with her ex-boyfriend Kamil P. The rest of her friends left Karpacz on the Saturday. But on Saturday night, there was a fight between them. Kamil was seen leaving the hotel unexpectedly. An hour later, at 22:45 Karolina went out for a walk with her dog. Hotel cameras recorded her. After a few minutes, she came back. It looked like she had forgotten something. Soon after, the neighbors started complaining about the dog's barking. The security guard came to the door and listened if he could hear something in Karolina's room. It's the only actual event that was registered by the security camera's that night. Because the hotel camera's would soon after be turned off for the night, until the morning. In the early afternoon of Sunday January 18th, cleaners find Karolina's body hanging in the bathroom. She was hung up with the help of a hair straightener. Prosecutors, police and a doctor were called in. Toxicological analysis showed that amphetamine and mephedrone (an amphetamine-like stimulant) were found in significant amounts in her blood, as well as alcohol. The doctor stated right away that the death of Karolina cannot be ruled out to be a crime, committed by a third party. However, the prosecutor's office in Jeleniej Górzeis accepts a suicide version and after six months, the investigation is closed. Soon it becomes clear that they closed the case too soon.
The case is being investigated by a team of independent detectives, who say that the visual examination of the scene of the incident has been downplayed by the public prosecutors. "Upon arrival at the place of the incident, public prosecutors have not taken a copy of these so-called fingerprints. These basic elements at the scene were erased from the glass and cigarettes. Strange substances were picked from towels and we don't even know at the moment what those substances were, who smoked those cigarettes and when. These are all elements that have not been taken into account at all by the prosecution. Another flaw in the prosecution's office concerns a cable, forming a straight line with the hanging model. "It's just that nothing has been secured in any way.. To such an extent that we actually had to try to determine ourselves where she could hang herself from. So if the prosecutor doesn't see any basis for the investigation of this detail alone; of this key tool if you wish.... Well we wanted to investigate it internally ourselves therefore." "Key evidence on the case... the cable that Karolina supposedly hung herself from; it just disappears. And this is not the end of neglect." Prosecutors seem to ignore a lot of strange facts, the Lampart detectives believe. First of all, the model would be in a full ski suit when she was found. In addition, she would have had to perform a very precise tying knot of the cable that was found around her neck, and she would have to do this under the strong influence of drugs and alcohol, at the end of her birthday bash. Suicide in such circumstances would have been strange, but it was especially unusual how Karolina's body was found hanging: in a sitting position. "When we actually analyzed this, the real forensics found that this shower head doesn't actually have the capacity to withstand this type of pressure and weight from a body." So why is there a sign of strangulation on her neck, indicating suffocation? As a result of her freely sitting there in that shower, without the shower device able to hold her weight? Because testing the strength of the shower head proved for a fact that this was not possible. So why does the neck slurry indicate suffocation? Despite the detectives' conclusions, the public prosecutor never carried out their own scientific experiments in this respect. According to the Lampart experts, the girl's death took place in a completely different way. And it all started in her hotel room. The attacker might have sat there with her and tried to strangle her, but with an object or tool that doesn't leave any traces, for example a pillow. Then, by the time that the likely attacker noticed that Karolina's body was no longer moving, he probably didn't know or realize that although she might have lost consciousness, she was still alive. Then he moved her body to the bathroom. Chaotically, a loop around her neck was made on the side of the handset from the shower. The Lampart Group investigators (who seem everywhere and involved in every case of Polish young women dying under suspicious circumstances while the public prosecution brushes their investigations aside), have concluded in the case of Karolina's death, that it is disturbingly connected to the death of Magdalena Zuk in Egypt. The two young women shared some mutual friends, the Lampart Group found out. Both women for example, knew Magda's boyfriend Markus W., who actually insisted [and lied to the police] that he didn't know Karolina. But witnesses say otherwise; by contrast, they say quite the opposite. The family also says something quite differently. The same is true of the Gray [night]club, where both ladies went to, and both ladies also appeared in the case of Karolina Kaczorowska. Witnesses claim that Markus W. was a figure who Karolina knew very well and that she was afraid of him. For some very indefinite reason, Markus is Magdalena Zuk's boyfriend and the hairdresser of Karolina Kaczorowska. They were both girls who went to the same club (Gray) and it was at that club where Karolina met Kamil P. In order to effectively investigate these leads, we must first start to re investigate the death of Karolina. But the family of the model have not been successful with their demands for the public prosecution to resume the investigation into her death. According to the independent investigators, she did not commit suicide, but was drugged and blackmailed by Kamil P. and his clique of criminal friends.
Who was this ex-boyfriend, who was the last to have seen Karolina in the hotel where she 'suicided' and who was investigated for her death? It's Kamil P., nicknamed Zloty ("Golden"). Zloty knew Marcus already back then. Markus has denied any links: "My colleagues and friends' connections to the Karpacz case are complete nonsense". Kamil's involvement in the mysterious death of model Karolina Kaczorowska has never been proven, but rumours and gossip are rife in Poland, and for good reasons probably, going by the strange and illogical circumstances in which she died, and how Kamil tried to flee the country soon after. Not only was she found in a manner that made suicide very difficult, her beloved dog was also badly injured (kicked half to death) and all this happened right after a party for her 30th birthday. To which Kamil and a group of (his) friends were invited in the hotel in Karpacz. Karolina seemed in good spirits on the CCTV recordings of the hotel. There are no witnesses to her death other than her dog, which Karolina's mother is nowadays looking after. But this dog may hold a serious clue in this case and something which the prosecutor has ignored. The dog was badly beaten and was in terrible pain when he was found, also suffering from diarrhea. Even till this day the dog suffers from chronic pain. Karolina loved her dog like a child. She would never torture her beloved dog. So doesn't this detail in itself not prove that other people were involved in her death? The public prosecutors from Jelenia Góra explained that the investigation in Karolina's death was stopped because "no evidence was found that the cause of the girl's death was the involvement of third parties or that she was persuaded to commit suicide," said spokesperson Violetta Niziołek. Although the autopsy did not reveal that third parties were involved in the death of Karolina, the case remains mysterious until this day, and doubt still exists about the prosecutors verdict. There were no indications that the successful Karolina wanted to take her own life. Another reason why many people in Poland do not believe in that Karolina Kaczorowska committed suicide, is the fact that very soon after her death, her apartment was raided and a small fortune's worth of jewelry and cash were stolen. And just like with Magdalena Żuk's famous death, Karolina was captured by CCTV cameras a few hours before her death. Unlike Magdalena, Karolina does not look distressed on the camera footage. She just walks her beloved dog before heading to bed, seemingly. Soon after, the dogs frantic barking is recorded on camera. Karolina's mother is adamant about it: "She always left him with me when she had to travel. This time he went with her. She loved the dog like a child, so if she wanted to commit suicide, she would certainly not let him look at it" - Karolina's mother commented in an interview with a journalist.
Regarding all these theories
Some have speculated that Markus may have been involved. I've read a couple of pretty specific theories, such as that he sold her as a sex slave, but there is no solid evidence of this to be found online as far as I could tell. The Polish prosecution cleared him of wrongdoing, and Magdalena's family also have defended Markus, saying that it are only crazy internet users who think they know better in this respect. It has been suggested that the "M" in the video call stands for "Markus", and that Magda pulled away as she said that, because she was hinting at him. However, he recorded the call - surely he wouldn't have made it public if it implicated himself? There are more men who's name starts with an M in this story, anyway. Mahmoud for instance (we know he was there when she made the call so she would not want to give his full name). All her relatives and loved ones unanimously state the same: Magdalena had no history whatsoever of psychiatric problems. Neither with depression or anxiety. So just saying that she 'just got crazy', so soon after landing, without any history of mental disorders or psychoses... may be too easy a shot. If anything, Magdalena looked more like she had been drugged, something which she also stated to her family according to some sources. There are also addition circumstances here where Magda seemed specifically petrified of the men who were with her. She seemed almost too anxious to talk freely with Markus, and going by the raunchy derogatory stuff these (at least) two Egyptians were saying in the background of the video about Markus, she may have had reasons to be petrified. Mahmoud himself was nearby, overhearing everything (and commenting on it at times). Mahmoud spoke Polish, so she had no way of privately talking to Markus. The way Magda was acting during the call could be interpreted as her being scared to talk in front of the people she was with. It is also a little odd that Magda often used Mahmoud's phone, despite her own phone, presumably, being usable (she told Markus on the video call that she would call him back from her phone). And in the hospital on Saturday the 29th, she seems not so much in a state of blind psychosis; she seems to specifically attack the two men who are trying to hold her down; men without doctors clothing, very possibly being Mahmoud and his pal. Did Magdalena perhaps get drugged upon arrival? And/or was she sexually assaulted and acutely traumatized by that experience perhaps? I found it typical - not to say suspect - that the travel agency she went through for the trip, just happened to have an employee who was also a friend/acquaintance of Markus. And then the colleague who recorded the video conversation and who booked a flight to Egypt to pick Magdalena up... also happens to be part of a network of suspicious hometown network..
I personally believe the Lampart group and their investigation about human trafficking rings being involved here. And I believe the general Polish conviction, as expressed in the comment sections below online news articles and youtube videos that the nitty-gritty and rough reality of this whole saga may never come to light, as both Egyptian officials and Polish public prosecutors may have their own reasons to make this out to be a suicide by a deranged young woman. To me it seems that Magda was drugged and traumatized, and that the combination of these things may explain her strange behaviour and her being found unconscious on the Friday morning. Magda may have been already unconscious when she fell out of the window. Or she was so confused and afraid, that she jumped herself but not with the intent to take her own life, but instead in a dazed state, trying to escape her tormentors. Magda's family believe that she has been raped and murdered. However, the Egyptian investigators seem hell-bend on obstructing the paths of investigation that may prove or disprove this. The autopsy rapports and toxicological evidence, as well as practically everything else from the case file, has still not been sent to Poland after more than two years. Magdalena's family could only receive this information if her father agreed to sign an agreement that they accept that Magda committed suicide. If that doesn't scream CORRUPTION then I don't know what does. They messed also with her body, before Polish specialists could perform the basic autopsy steps. So it seems clear to me that there is no way that rape and abuse will ever be brought to light - or be reliably disproven. No wonder Magda's family are so desperate and angry. And Polish prosecutors also thought for a good while that Magdalena may have been murdered in Egypt. Nowadays they have prematurely let it out that they believe that Magdalena suffered from a psychiatric issue and killed herself. But Magda's family vehemently denies this, and have expressed their disbelief at every opportunity, stressing that they have insight into the case file and that evidence of such is nowhere to be found in the files. Quite the opposite in fact: according to Magdalena's sister and parents, the evidence in the case files (which they cannot publicly talk about as long as the investigation is ongoing, at the risk of being imprisoned themselves) the evidence points towards foul play and murder. "In my opinion, someone gave her her medication and she was abused and injured - I am sure of that. Everything in this report indicates that a crime has been committed" - says Anna Cieślińska.
Update July 3rd 2020A few days ago the Polish authorities have extended the investigation period for the disappearance of Magdalena with yet another 6 months.... They keep extending and extending. Many people suspect that we will never find out about the truth, and that the authorities, both in Poland and in Egypt, are covering the true story and facts up. I received some excellent information from a Polish woman who knows a lot about the details of this case and I can share some of her information here.

Especially her sister, unfortunately :( When Magdalena was talking to Markus on the phone, she was shown a video they made of her rape. That is why she was behaving like this in the video. Markus filmed it on purpose. The material was trimmed and it was done on purpose, they made a lot of errors because they had to make the alibi in a very short time frame. This is why we can't always hear clearly what was said, because they were experimenting with it to lower the quality and hide traces. For their bad luck, there are still people who are digging deep, deeper than me and they can expose the real purpose of this video. Just the government pretends we are wrong and they know better.
I think both cases of Karolina Kaczorowska and Magdalena Zuk are connected. Karolina was sold as well, in the UK she was beaten by her partner. Her sister also said that she knew Markus and she saw he had a lot of different pills in his car... About Magda, I think she was made to, even sold. In my opinion, she was offered a job, like a hostess or something and she agreed. She mentions the job while talking to Markus. Polish girls, unfortunately, decide to take such jobs as they are well paid and you go to nice places. Thousands of those girls are being sold when they reach the destination, being drugged from the beginning. For sure she would not agree to go there if she had known that she would be abused.... For me, it is a typical planned action, that turned out tragic. She was fighting for her life, you can see it. Those moments in the hospital when she regains her strengths were moments when the drugs they administered to her stopped working. It was her only chance to run.... It happens, drinks are sometimes getting spiked in tourist places and disco's. It happened to me in Cyprus. It was a nightmare, the mood swings, panicking, happiness and no control over your body- this is what I remember. Friends wanted to take me to the hospital because they didn't know what to do with me, they said I was not acting like myself. The next day I remembered only flashes about how I was running around the garden in the middle of the night smiling, laughing and in one minute I was crying and then I was smiling again. It went on like this for about 6 hours. This is the only thing I remember. And you can do nothing the next day because your brain is like empty, you want to sleep and you feel how your body is tired. They for sure gave Magda a drugs dosage that blacked her out completely, or maybe too little actually, because she still had some consciousness. This is why they made this video, to create an alibi for themselves. Magda's boss claimed it was needed to organize transport, but Magda was alive, she didn't need the transport at that moment. They just didn't know that Magda would react like this, they thought she would be afraid and would be doing whatever they said, just as most of the girls who are in this situation do. About the boat.... Nobody pays attention, the police said that her phone pinging from a location off the cost was a mistake from her phone, however it was checked and her phone's location was very precise, tagging the location, and it was perfect.
Basically, this case has a very shocking background. Her family behaves strange, her sister defends Markus... If someone did this to my sister, I would do anything to put this guy to jail. So that is strange. On the other hand, I think someone is observing and threatening them. They are from Bogatynia, this city is known to produce drugs, it's one big mafia. Basically, depending on the source, newspaper or TV station, everyone involved in this case put out different statements. Three years after she died, her parents still can't reveal what really happened. Someone is trying to hide it. Everyone ignores this video with the conversation with Markus, whereas this is one of the main pieces of evidence. Imagine if we the public can identify background noises, what more the police and other services can do? It should be easy to solve, but there is someone higher up who just doesn't want to.
Markus had just met Magdalena, he had just shown up in her life and then after a few months they are already going to Egypt? He made her fall in love with him so much so, that she believed everything he said. They wanted to sell the trip as Markus had issues with his passport and there were people ready to go with Magda, offering to go in his place, but Markus then told them that the ticket was already sold. However, it wasn't! Coincidence? This is the same plan regarding human trafficking, he knew she was too smart to agree to go alone if she didn't trust him. Most probably he told her someone from his family would be waiting for her. And yes, his Muslim friends were indeed waiting. Katowice airport does not want to show the camera recording from the day Magda entered the plane. The same with the airport in Egypt. WHY? Who are they protecting? There was a statement from tourists, I think Italian or German, I don't remember. They were accommodated in the room next to Magda's room on that trip. They said they heard very strange noises in Magda's room the first night, all night (She was probably being raped from the first day). Those statements disappeared! This resident was going to people, on purpose telling them how crazy Magda was behaving and how she was making problems, so everyone was looking at her as the crazy girl. She knew from this first night what was happening, she wanted to kill herself I think, that's why she was on the rooftop and it was the moment when she wanted to jump, but they took her. Everything was planned, they just didn't know that her body wouldn't react as it should on the drug. I also believe she jumped from this window in the hospital and no one helped her with it, I would jump too if someone sold me in order to be raped.
The hospital footage shows Zloty in the hospital, he was wearing a checkered shirt. He was there controlling her all the time, every step she took and every word she spoke. There is a video about it, but it is hard to find it as well. But look how Magda reacts to this guy. It was strange from the beginning why she reacted so aggressive once she sees this guy. It means that or he did something very bad to her or she knew him... She does not have this attitude towards the other guys there, only towards this one and she is not afraid of him. Why not? Maybe I am mistaken, but this looks very strange for me. I think doctors in the hospital were bribed or were just taking orders, they were afraid as well. Imagine it was not the first time they had a girl like this there, Magda was just fighting till the end. I checked many cases from Egypt, all of them states in the report from hospital that it was a case of mental breakdown or a similar thing... One Ukrainian girl died there and they said she jumped out of the bus while it was speeding because she had a breakdown... I am sure someone helped her with that.
Wroclaw nightlife is dangerous.... A lot of strange guys, strange clubs, more and more cases of putting pills in girl's drinks. Hostesses claiming they were made to put drugs to people and steal money from them, being also threatened by employers. Proof for everything, but why did nobody do anything with the information? Imagine what power they have there. I spoke to polish people who were working in Egypt, they confirmed my opinion. They said there are very powerful people in Egypt, this captain Khaled is one of the most powerful. They said it is a fact they drug people in hotels and use them and if the drugs don't work well enough and they realise what happened, they will never go back home. Egypt will never agree on this or cause a scandal. It is easier to kill people, there are too many cases of girls committing suicide there while on holiday. Only an idiot wouldn't see any connection to human trafficking and planned journey. I think she thought she was going to work at the hotel for a few days or maybe for one event, whatever, for sure not to go fuck with Muslims. I spoke to people who knew her, she was a normal girl, ambitious and talented. She just trusted the wrong person... She was drugged most probably while she was going to the airport, it is around 2 hours from Wroclaw.
This is all being hidden because Egypt has nothing but the tourist industry and if it collapses, they are done. Also powerful Polish mafia, it was always powerful... I am sure it was all planned with Magda, and I was reading that abusers are ruthless... Hurting, raping, threatening, they can even hurt a girl badly in front of other girls, just to show them they must be obedient. Also those drugs are really addictive to the point that girls will do anything to get the drug. If she didn't jump, she could have been abused until today.
The videocall was analysed by an american doctor who reads body language and he has no doubts she was sold, abused and this videocall was her crying for help. The thing is that the video was recorded earlier, but published 2 days later, so obviously there was time in between to help her. So how badly did Markus really wanted to help her? He didn't want to, he knew exactly what was about to happen. He is hiding, and I will tell you why. He was pushing Magda to speak and she said 'M', when the resident took the phone at the end he says 'I will kill him' and he spoke a little and at the end he says 'and now fuck off bye'. He exposed them in this video. Markus was hiding his face in every interview, why? I wouldn't hide my face if my intentions were clear.. Many people have forgotten about Magda, many people claim she was crazy as they don't go any deeper to this case. I doubt the truth will be revealed, still I want people to be aware of this, that they should choose other holiday destinations, that they can't trust all hotels. The problem is, at least in Poland, Egypt is a cheap destination and people will go and many said that someone was trying to enter the room or was touching women in intimate places... Even men were being drugged or poisoned, for a reason I don't understand it is not being reported in the news or papers, you have to find it yourself..."

If anyone is to blame, it is the hospital because she was clearly a danger to herself and she died while under their care but she did not kill herself, when she jumped out that window death was not her intent, in fact quite the opposite. This was a tragic accident and to rule her death a suicide is unfair to her and her family. Edit: I would like to add that after watching the video from the hospital I think the hospital really should shoulder much of the responsibility for this. She was surrounded by a number of men standing over her, whom I doubt spoke polish, their actions at times are aggressive towards her and they can be seen restraining her from behind in one instance. The only woman present was wearing a hijab(which is totally her right and fine by me) I just wonder if Magdalena would have responded better to someone she could identify with easier, someone who could speak her language and shared similar cultural customs(i.e style of dress). I also think it would have been much wiser to allow her some space, not surround her with a large group of men and perhaps have just one female staff member approach her calmly after giving her a chance to calm down. I think the staff escalated an already tense situation unnecessarily. She was frightened and they made it even worse. They were all clearly inexperienced and I also noticed that they weren’t even dressed like drs or nurses usually dress in hospitals which I imagine made Magdalena’s paranoia even worse."

And she is not the only victim. He was a friends with Kamil's model kid, Karolina Kaczorowska, who committed "suicide" in Karpach a year ago, and then was robbed of a video from the flight in the hospital, and you can see in the magnification of that video that he is injecting her with something with he took very quickly out of his pocket. The worst thing is that the man in the white shirt in the end hit her head. Markus - Magdy's boyfriend and Carolina's partner are drug dealers. Plus, they both know each other well. Both had a strange influence on their girlfriends. Karolina sponsors Kamil and his friends in Karpach where he commits suicide, and when she dies, someone brings precious jewelry, clothes and over 400,000 in a ready-to-do, using Magda to sponsor a trip to Egypt without any money and she must borrow the money. Why did she not lend cash for a cheaper trip to Greece or Bulgaria? Perhaps the death of these two girls is a combination of unfortunate and tragic events, and perhaps both of them have been victims of more serious business. And the second question is, are there just two of them? You can see on the phone video that the words "Maciej is coming for you" seem to scare Magda.

I found some info that seems to be confirmed: "Other tourists at the hotel claim that she was acting weird from the moment she came into the hotel. She was talking to people she didn't know and telling them personal stuff about her. On the second day she was going around the hotel and even stripped her clothes at one time. That is why the tour guy took care of her." - Maybe also a disclaimer - I don't know how it is with other countries, but when Polish people go on vacation with some company, it almost always has a person at the site, living in the hotel through the summer. The person helps with communication with the staff (older Polish people don't know English), advises where to go and what to see etc. And helps when there are any problems. So that's why he stepped in. The Egyptian report states that she died from the fall and had no other wounds and wasn't raped, the Polish report is not released. And well, that's about it. I think it's a kind of Elisa Lam case, in the sense that she had an episode. I don't know what triggered it - taking the meds, not taking them, mixing with alcohol or with some other stuff... but yeah, "just" another sad case of someone having a mental break and not receiving a proper help."

If there was a Polish embassy, as her boyfriend mentions in the call, or a police station or even the airport she would've gone to any one of those places if she could have, but they were, as she says, "playing tricks" and "moving her from hotel to hotel" . She didn't know where she was and her possibly violent and loud attempts to escape may have been misinterpreted by outsiders as psychotic breaks, which is how she ended up in hospitals. She may have been told by her captors to say she didn't want treatment, the hospital may have tried releasing her back into the care of her captors and she fought back in response. I think this poor girl went through hell. She knew she wouldn't get out of there alive, probably based on what her captors were telling her. She said over and over that it was "pointless". She gave up on trying to get out. Even though her boyfriend said someone was coming to get her, she knew the people holding her wouldn't let her go. TLDR; I think she committed suicide after several attempts to escape the people who were stalking her and holding her hostage. I do not think she had a psychotic break. Again, this is the first I've heard of this case, so my understanding of it may be completely off base, but it could also be a fresh perspective."

I feel like she was either trying to make a run for it or she was sedated and thrown out the Window. …...and I don't know about ya'll, but who buys a plane ticket that requires a passport and doesn't check to see if the person you're traveling with, isn't at least up to date? I understand it was a "Surprise" but wouldn't you at least try to verify that before spending that type of money?"

The most pressing questions in this case:
-If Magdalena had a psychotic episode, then why did she not act more crazy in the video call with Markus? Why was she afraid to say things? Why did she give the letter M (clearly, that was not an 'uhhhm')? Why was so then so afraid of Mahmoud and was she implying they did bad things with her there? How come she seemed to make calculating decisions with regards to what she could and couldn't say, or whisper if she was really off her head from a psychosis or something?
-If she was drugged and abused and knew it: why did she not seek help while at the airport? From people other than Mahmoud and his gathering?
-What were Mahmoud and his cronies doing in the hospital, chasing a visibly petrified Magdalena through the hallways in the late evening? Why were they even allowed in those hallways by hospital staff?
-How come Markus and Mahmoud already knew each other? And the rest of the boys, including Zloty? What are the odds that exactly Mahmoud ends up 'caring for' Markus' girlfriend in Egypt?
-How come someone 'psychotic' is allowed to grab hospital equipment and jump out a window? In the supposedly safe hospital surroundings? With only one nurse present, out of those hordes of people chasing her through the hallways? Because that makes sense; untying the ropes that keep a 'deranged' person tied down, well after midnight, while you are all by yourself in the room.
-Why has Egypt for the past 2+ years not provided all their investigation results to Poland? Why are they still waiting for important evidence and is it true that Egypt messed with Magdalena's body, so that a proper and reliable second opinion autopsy in Poland was impossible?
-Why didn't the Polish officials provide Magda's family with emergency passports right away?
So that they could fly to their daughter already on the Thursday or Friday? And bring her home safely, one way or another? Instead, the family was waiting nervously for some colleague of shady Markus to save their daughter in a place like Egypt..
Despite the results not having been made public yet, and despite the case having been initially considered a murder by Polish prosecution, researchers revealed in January 2018 that according to post-mortem and lab results, Magdalena's death was caused by a fall of some heightThe prosecutors said that no evidence of rape or any other violence was found. Czułowski also emphasized that evidence provided during the preparatory procedure has so far not shown that the victim has been exposed to sexual violence or other forms of violence. Nor did they so far find evidence that she was the victim of human trafficking. the spokesman stressed. But Magdalena Żuk's family are deeply unhappy with the Polish prosecution, who in their opinion has done little to clarify the circumstances of their daughter's death. The family also still does not know the exact cause of the death of their daughter, and claim they never received any toxicological or autopsy results. Magda's sister believes that Magda was murdered, and accuses the Polish officials to purposely bending the story and evidence into a suicide, and Magdalena Żuk's mother is convinced that her daughter was under the influence of drugs. Magda's family are so angry about the way Magdalena's death has so far been treated and investigated ("nothing has been done in two years time", "Even the prosecution are standing opposite of us, instead of on our side"), that they are currently threatening to release all sorts of protected and locked up details about the case. "We do not receive any up-to-date information on the progress of these activities. Nor do we have any information about the activities being carried out in Egypt, nor do we have any contact with the prosecutor who is conducting the procedure," family representative Sebastian Danilec said. And already on May 10th 2017, Prosecutor General Zbigniew Ziobro announced after the autopsy of Magdalena Żuk had ended in Egypt, that according to one of the versions examined by researchers it could be "a broader practice with regard to trafficking in human beings and reaping the benefits of organized crime activities", as well as "alleged trafficking in women, reaping the benefits of using women for sexual purposes by means of violence, deception or chemicals" - he said.
On June 30th 2019 the case was supposed to be finalized. But as of now, it has been further delayed. (Official) Reason being that prosecutors are STILL waiting for legal aid in Egypt. They are also still waiting for additional advice from forensic experts, says Onet Tomasz Czułowski, spokesperson for the Prosecutor's Office in Yelenia Góra. According to the statement by the Public Prosecutor in Jelenia Góra, researchers have also still not received a translation of the Egyptian documents. And once the transmission of case materials by the Egyptian side will finally been achieved, further additional advice is planned for specialists in toxicology and psychological and psychiatric services. What these 'case materials' exactly exist of, remains partially up to your guess, or mine. But the family spokesperson mentioned in August 2018 that they were still waiting for the transfer of biological material and for video monitoring from places where Magda resided, in particular hospitals, hotels, the airport - both from her arrival and the failed attempt to return to the country. It is clear that there is resistance from the Egyptian side to freely release all the information and documents on this case to their Polish colleagues.. The question that quickly comes to mind after reading this is; do they have something to hide? Is some of the evidence which is held back until now, damaging for Egypt perhaps? Or incriminating?
So as you can read, Egypt has not exactly been forthcoming or swift with their part of the work here, in the past 2+ years. Paweł Jurewicz, spokesperson for the Żuk family, states that for the prosecution no documents from Egypt are actually required to continue the investigation. He also leaks that currently not only the so-called Egyptian report is missing, but also security videos, blood samples, samples for toxicological tests. And nothing is secured - he concludes. The family is also very critical and angry that so much information in the investigation into Magdalena's death is still sealed and locked until this day. This includes documents on electronic data media, as well as opinions from experts in forensic medicine, toxicology, biology, informatics, psychiatry and psychology. The victim's luggage and her mobile phone were also examined and numerous data from phone and social media were obtained. These documents are protected and kept secret, at penalty of being persecuted themselves if Magda's relatives reveal them now. This is of course also to keep the ongoing investigation secure, but the family are very upset about the ongoing delays and the ways in which they have been forced to silence. Until today it has not been officially proven (or disproved) that Magdalena Żuk either committed suicide or was murdered. There are many indications that the mystery of the death of the Polish woman abroad will not be resolved any time quickly. Many people believe that the case has been on purpose shrouded in mystery and clouds, and that her family may never know the truth about the conditions of Magdalena Żuk's death. Although the family are very convinced in their stance that Magdalena died due to a crime, and not as the result of suicide. In August 2018, Magdalena Żuk's sister wrote on Facebook that the latest materials in the case file clearly show that Magda Żuk was the victim of a crime. In response, the spokesperson for the national public prosecutor Ewa Bialik stated that no new circumstances had emerged in the case of Żuk's death. Magda's family doesn't believe the woman committed suicide. Magda Żuk was not mentally ill, they emphasize, she underwent no psychiatric treatment and did not take any medication related to mental illness. Paweł Jurewicz, the representative of Magdalena Żuk's family, confirmed all this to media outlet 'Onet' in August. "You must want to commit suicide. The materials we know of clearly lead to the fact that Magda was the victim of crime, and this is the most up-to-date and the only information that is really acceptable", stressed Jurewicz. Mr. Jurewicz has not changed his mind on this. Until this day he is of the opinion that if the 27-year-old wanted to commit suicide, she would not have traveled to Egypt for it. He emphasizes that the family has insight in the case files; "Today we know much more [about the details of the case] than what has been shown in the media. If the public prosecutor would provide the information it has to the public, I think it would all be much clearer" - says Paweł Jurewicz.
In any case, it is not known when exactly the specialized autopsy results of Magdalena Żuk can be expected. Officially December 31st 2019 has been given by Polish officials, but going by the rate with which deadlines are extended, we may have to wait much longer than that, perhaps. Some vital recordings of the surveillance videos of the hospital and hotel where Magdalena Żuk resided (for instance the ones possibly recording her jump from the window) have been protected. Despite early comforting statements from the Prosecution, we will have to wait for the full report and conclusion in this case. For now they were very proud of themselves in April 2019, for finally (after 2 years of diplomatic wrestling) having 'secured' the right to get insight into Egypt's case file and evidence... The fact that this documentation "will be sent to Poland in the near future" was hailed as some big success of the Polish Public Prosecutor's Office, emphasized lawyer Tomasz Czułowski of the Prosecutor's Office in Yelenia Góra. Mind you, they had been begging and pleading and demanding this basic commitment for international legal assistance from Egypt from the beginning of the investigation. And the have Egypt's case files and evidence finally been actually sent to Poland by now? Your guess is as good as mine, but I'm putting my money on... no. Nevertheless the final rounding up of this investigation, and the release of the Polish case conclusions are now planned for the end of 2019. And we should not despair anyway, because Polish officials have ensured us that the resolution of Magdalena's investigation has their top priority! "The issue is a priority for us. We will do everything we can to explain the reasons for Magdalena Żuk's death'' said Marek Gołębiowski, Chief Prosecutor of Yelenia Góra already in May 2017... But given the many delays along the way so far, and the snails pace at which Egypt has so far contributed to their share of the job, we may have to wait even longer for the official, fully verified investigation results in this case..

In this and this Polish newspaper article, the family from Magdalena ring a bell once more about the slack and in their eyes incompetent way in which officials are handling this case. The family and their lawyer insist that they have seen enough evidence (also in the case file which is still sealed off from the public) to be certain that Magdalena was violently murdered. The tomographic photos acquired by the sister and father of Magda during their visit in Egypt, have been studied by a Polish doctor, who agrees with the family that she met foul play. "A Polish doctor thinks that there was certainly internal bleeding. Her ribs were broken. This can be the result of a struggle or fight before she fell out of the window. Magda was laying against the wall of the airconditioning unit. It seemed as if she had been thrown out backwards, while she was weak or limp. Her wounds were only on one side of the body." The fall was actually a throwing out of the window, and it was done to cover up the previously sustained injuries. Injuries she suffered at the hands of someone else. The family repeat that Egyptian toxicology confirmed that a khat-type of drug was found in Magdalena's blood. This information, acquired by the family while in Egypt, was then refused by the Polish prosecutors in Jelenia Góra. Magda's mother, Elżbieta Żuk, pleads in despair: "They killed our child, and the Polish authorities don't want to help us." And still the family and their lawyer are forbidden by the Polish investigators to reveal details about the case file. Lawyer Paweł Jurewicz states that the Polish prosecution has their hands tied because the Egyptian authorities still haven't sent them the most important autopsy documents from Magdalena Żuk. "Egypt lives off of tourism. What's their interest to withhold Poland these investigation documents? If they have nothing to hide, they would have already sent it all to us long ago. Its unnatural behaviour". The public prosecutor does not want to comment on reports about the presence of drugs in the body of Magdalena Żuk. - We will issue a press statement in the near future - Psays Tomasz Czułowski of the Public Prosecutor in Jelenia Góra.

Someone with the initial A. has sent me interesting information. A. wrote to have followed this case and to know firsthand what it is like to live in a place like Hurghada. A. is also up to date with Egyptian culture and habits, and wrote me about several red flags in this case. Firstly: Marsa Alam is no place for people like Magda. It is very unusual for Polish (or Russian, or Serbian, or other western) tourists to go there, when they can have much more fun and time for the same amount of cash in Hurgada. I'm told that 4000 dollars would hardly get a week in Marsa Alam, if we included the costs of plane tickets. - Secondly: There is an actual airport in Marsa Alam. And it is situated only about 37 minutes of driving away from the Three Corner Equinox, where Magda stayed. It is odd that she would book a flight to land in Hurghada, which is in fact 3 hours worth of driving away from her hotel. I uttered that there may perhaps not have been a direct flight from Katowice-Pyrzowice airport to Hurghada at the time. A. says that we have to keep in mind that this trip was booked through a travel agency (Rainbow tours), and not by an individual who may not have realized this topgraphical information. - Thirdly, there is a general "mechanism" in place when it comes to the people who would have worked in a place like Hurgada/Marsa Alam. A. wrote me that up to 90% of them are "low-class citizens", who come mostly from villages and small cities and who are hardly educated. They live a day by day, often have no bank accounts or savings. Important is the relationship which local police has with these people: they are right on top of these people. Only about 150,000 citizens live in the Red Sea area (compared to Cairo with its unofficial 30 million inhabitants). Police keep good track of the workers who flock to the Red Sea, because tourism is vital and of the highest priority there. So the criminal records of workers are checked by police when they arrive, and care is taken that nothing disturbs the flow of tourism. "And they go far to secure this. What I am getting at is that Mahmoud Khairy would never in a million years be on his own, whether he was securing her travel to Hurgada or had anything to do to her death. He would not have acted on his own." "For them to be able to grab her at the hospital the way they did, like a convict or a crazy person in a jumpsuit, could only have been done with a strong cushion of one's power and [high up] agreement. Even the manager of the hospital CAN NOT withstand such an incident, unless it comes from someone in a very high position in the government having his back, or even ordering him to do so."
Fourth: Tourists and foreigners have a very high status in Huragda. They are more protected than the Egyptian citizens themselves. Untouchable. One complaint can end anyone's career in the tourism industry. This makes it even more strange how Magda was followed and treated by the local guys. Even the manager of the hospital CAN NOT withstand such an incident, unless it comes from someone in a very high position in the government having his back, or even ordering him to do so." - Fifth: in the video that was recorded of Markus' conversation with Magdalena, at minute 01:17 we hear M. Khairy talking to someone and say: "Sorry ya 'Basha', who am I having the honor of talking to again?". This phrase "Atsharaf beek" or "who am I having the honor of" hints at:
1. while he is talking to this someone, he doesn't know who the person on the phone is. This indicates that Captian Khaled was with someone who handed him the phone to talk to M. Khairy.
2. that phrase is mostly used to address someone with a high statuses or an official rank, like a policeman, or a someone with a military rank. Most often a 'Captain' is a Navy officer.
3. from 00:44 - 01:17 he is taking orders, with long silences and at the 01:09 mark he says "Khalas" or "consider it done" and seconds after that, he says the "who am I having the honor of" phrase. And lastly, at 01:19, he says "Mashy Captain Khaled" which is equivalent to "Yes sir".
The medical report (attached*) doesn't make any sense. The one from her last day; the 'management section', does not show any indication of the severity of her impact to the ground, and the 'history section' mentions agitation and irritability, without mentioning anything about her jump or suicide attempt or the accident in general.
Sixth: At the 08:52 mark in the video, A. believes that Magdelena put her finger over her lips, but is pointing to whoever holding the phone. "It was obvious that he is holding it with his right hand and his face is near Magda's right. At 02:00 when he said "Magda Ok" she moves her face to her right to look at him." - Seventh: "I worked in tourism and I know how a tour guide MUST look; without a beard for certain. This Job is all about meeting people and being friendly, it is about appearance. So how come that M. Khairy has a beard and mostl likely hasn't been shaving for 3-4 days?" - Eight: The medical report (attached*) doesn't make any sense. The one from her last day; the 'management section', does not show any indication of the severity of her impact to the ground, and the 'history section' mentions agitation and irritability, without mentioning anything about her jump or suicide attempt or the accident in general. "They just copied the data from her previous report from the 28th, when she was released because they didn't have a mental ward in the hospital. The report even states that she was experiencing 'agitation and irritability' for FOUR days, and how did they come up with that statement when she was administered to the hospital only two days ago? Would the doctor diagnose her case based upon stories only, told by her tour guide?" "And also: if she was denied access to the facility during the two previous days because they didn't have a psychiatrist available, or anyone with experience with her state, why the hell would they take her in again?!" "I know this might not seem a big deal when hearing this, but I know how some hospitals work in Egypt. I once paid 500 pounds to get a report from a hospital in Cairo to admit [something] to my university for classes I've missed. The report [of Magda] says it all about the hospital itself; they didn't care, she was some paperwork to be done in the lamest way imaginable. I believe she was killed twice, once from the window and another at the intensive care". - Ninth: The 25th of April (strangely enough) was a significant day to Egyptian Tourism as described in this article the year before, as it was the date of an agreement between Egypt and Poland to expand their flight numbers. "The importance of this may be, that Egypt wasn't gonna ruin this deal by any chance. You have to understand that in third world countries like Egypt (or Panama), the words 'money' and 'power' have effects which exceeds anyone's imagination about what they would or could do." - Tenth: "In a video interview with Dr. Ahmed Shawky at room 307 where Magda was, he described the jump by putting both hands through the window (in a diving posture). Indicating she jumped down head first.... Really?!" Eleventh: "They are all in on the joke. Some of the most disturbing behavior of those low-class Egyptian workers is that they see foreigners as a walking sack of money, and its legit to 'take' what they want from them. So if the shopkeeper talked in Arabic to a tour guide (i.e) to have his support (or even without talking) on his claim on a price of something, he will get his supports. One of the most mind-rattling things about this case is how I believe she was kidnapped in broad daylight. And she didn't manage to get her head around it, she was so confused. The only moment I think I saw her fighting is at the hospital lobby, where I believe she was told she couldn't leave and she had to spend the night there. But how is it possible that there were all those days where she didn't scream for help, not even to her boyfriend to anybody who was around? Let us imagine how she met with M. Khairy at Hurghada airport, far from home without anybody there who she knew. She was drugged somewhere on the road with Flakka, which is called the zombie drug. Flakka can bring anyone to a catatonic state of mind. That would also explain her paranoid behavior at the hotel. I believe M. Khairy was all over her all the time: not in order to take care of her, but to monitor her and report to someone else. I also think he had a hand in the airport scene, when she wasn't allowed on her plane, and he was involved in the 2nd hotel refusal too. Just a few words in Arabic, while Magda is clueless, can alert the management to not accept her as a customer. I believe she felt (even with the dugs wearing off) helpless and that everyone in Marsa Alam was against her, and she was done for. Hence her words during the call: "it won't help" "I am not coming back" ..etc." - Twelfth: "At 11:31, when Magda said "M", one of the two guys (I guess M. Khairy and the other guy called Wael) asked: "do you know him/"Tearafo"? And the answer that came and which no video picked up on and translated, was: "you mean the one I am working for, they don't know that his name Mousa". I know, it doesn't make sense, but it is what it is. Also at the 12:22 mark, a phone was ringing. The only two things I've been able to understand of that conversation is what is said at 12:32: "it is not going well". I think he was talking about the situation with Magda talking to her boyfriend. Then at 12:46, he says: "uh yeah, she will take it in the morning". WHAT!...yeah, I can't believe it, I couldn't believe what I am hearing." - Thirteenth: "How much Markus is on it I can't tell, but he NEVER asked the right questions. When someone says: "they are here" or "I can't talk", the question that should eventually be asked should be something like: 'Who and Why', right? But he never asks any of these questions. He just kept asking what happened. I believe this call is made and recorded not with the intention of caring for Magda, but just as a document for him before she goes away, that can exonerate himself from any wrongdoing. Hence him asking her: "Do you trust me?" What a question!

Goodbye's
On Tuesday, May 23rd 2017 Magdalena Żuk (27) was buried. Family, friends, acquaintances and random people arrived. Friends brought her favourite flowers along: sunflowers. According to the Fakt newspaper, Markus, Magdalena Żuk's boyfriend, did not appear. People with cameras and journalists were not allowed to enter the cemetery. The family wanted to say their goodbyes to Magdalena Żuk within an intimate group.

For me being currently treated in a mental hospital, daycare unit now, i cant understand they have no fix-bed there. Even normal people without any mental issues have to be secured on the bed sometimes because they dont follow the rules to dont get up or leave the bed after surgery or examinations like spinal liqor is taken.

Eldery patients maybe sometimes are not so compliant or suffer dementia, the staff uses the both shields every hospital bed has, or use a three-point fixation so they patient cant leave the bed for his own safety.
Sure fixation might no be common in a regular hospital, but the standard is that staff is trained and knows about the danger if a fixation is done wrong.
For psychotic patients they could have used benzodiazipenes like Lorazepam or Tavor what its called here. After 1 mg, given orally with tablettes that dissolve immediatly in the mouth and the patient cant spit out, no more movement or anything is possible.
You simply fall asleep and the most symptoms of acute issues stop.
Cant believe that non-staff was allowed to enter the hospital or further than the ER, usally its closed for relatives and by hygiene rules anyway.
This hospital has poor standards, badly equipped and maybe understaffed.
The missing data of the vivisection is just a sure sign they did something wrong, scared to lose theirs jobs and for the criminals, a sign of guilt. The truth can always be told, noone needs to surpress information if the case was a normal patient, even with mental issues.
We should ask if wrong or missing information is common with every patient like after a car crash, do they always work so bad? Are there missing infos?
How come not more people jumped out of the window? I can tell you some want after being diagnosed with something like cancer or so.
This whole case stinks. Polygraph that Mamud-guy, he shows so much care for a random tourist, usually he would notify the authorities when a guest is behaving strange and hands him down to police or so and carrying on his daily work. I dont know how much they earn, but losing money makes no sense here.

ReplyDeleteIt's clear to me in that phone conversation that she's high on a very powerful drug. It seems most likely that her drink was spiked and she was sexually assaulted, which would explain the DNA on her clothing. Not all drugs leave the body quickly like alcohol, there are drugs with half lives of weeks and even months. I got a bad vibe from the guys in the background during the phone call joking about her boyfriend, they may be involved.

ReplyDeleteIt seems that ZM was drugged in the bar shortly after arrival and raped in her hotel room, then taken on a boat and raped again (possibly after more drugs had been given). She was so distressed and under the influence of drugs that her rapists had given her that she acted in a strange way (one likely drug makes people hot and so she took her top off in the hotel's public places, to cool off). The ordeal and the drugs caused her to escape from the hospital and fall to her death. There are many unanswered questions. Did ZM chose this resort knowing that her boyfriend knew a Polish speaking Eqyptian there? (Otherwise, what would be the chances of that?)
